Hi, Lovely peeps, yesterday I checked our electricity and gas consumption and fed them into our online account for a new reading and was horrified to see that we owe over £300 now...we pay by direct debit something every month and last year at the same time we were £96 in credit. We bought all energy saving light bulbs for the house in January and have nothing extra added to the electric supply apart from hubby's laptop, which I cannot believe has added such a huge amount to our usage and am really shocked by this new bill.
We're with Scottish Power and apparently the ombudsman has told them to reduce their prices, but, as yet, they haven't done so. I just can't figure out the price hikes, they seem enormous...we've actually used far less electricity this quarter but still owe this huge amount...I've written to them to tell them and to ask why it's so large, but don't expect a satisfactory answer other than to say prices have gone up etc. etc...Now we've got to decide whether to pay off this bill in one go and move to a far cheaper supplier...it's very, very annoying because, up till now, Scottish Power was excellent and far less expensive than other suppliers...I don't understand why they're not reducing their prices like every other energy supplier...hmmm...more hassle...why can't life just flow smoothly for once.
Today, we always seem to sorting out one thing or another that had been running well then suddenly nosedives. Our modern world is not exactly conducive to calmness and tranquillity...I seem to go up and down like a damned yoyo trying to keep up with all the glitches and price hikes, and errors made on both sides in our confusion with all the forms you know have to fill in just to join anything.
I've got five packs of ciggies left and one open one that I'm smoking now then I thought I'd make the effort to give up once and for all...my chest is bad now whenever I lie down, I end up coughing for what seems like ages, so my body is telling me it's time to stop if not my brain. So, Lovely peeps, soon you may find something akin to a lunatic blogging about losing it completely but please stay with me because the withdrawal symptoms do pass and sanity does return...
I'll let you know the day my last packet runs out, then the fun will begin...I have done it before so know it's possible, but have always gone back to it even two years later when completely stressed out...hope this doesn't happen again...but we'll see...
Have a good afternoon and big hugs to one and all.

Is it me?
@ 30.05.2007 – 20:23:40
Hi, Lovely peeps, is it me or is blog.co.uk hiccuping again? It's painfully slow and once I had two posts instead of one put up because thought it had crashed so posted it again then discovered it was already up...I noticed somebody else did as well so it looks like the big upgrade didn't work as well as they hoped.
Nothing on television tonight...watched Jonathan Meade Abroad at seven now will have to wait for Boston Legal because there's nothing else I can be bothered to watch until then.
I'm still not sure this Netgear is an improvement on my old wired modem but my hubby can now use the network, which is why we got in the first place but the connection is feeble to say the least...apparently there's fifty people on each section and if you're at the end of the line, it's just hard luck...oh, sorry, going on about broadband again...
Promised I'd stop, but it's still irritating to spend a hundred quid and it still functions like an ancient relic...well, actually that might work better if I could harness its spiritual energy
Nothing else to say now so will leave everybody to enjoy the rest of their evenings, big hugs and night night because won't be back...the slowness is driving me mad tonight...

I forgot
@ 30.05.2007 – 18:42:23
Hi, Lovely peeps, hope you had a good afternoon. A while back, and continuing my post on housing from this morning on a different tack, I can recall writing a comment on somebody's blog that there were now more millionaires and billionaires living in London than in any other capital of the world...the reason being is that they don't get taxed as they do elsewhere...somebody wrote back and said they thought that 40% tax for the well off was high, but what I forgot to say was that these very wealthy residents can buy property in London, and providing they don't occupy it for the entire year, can put their wealth in tax free havens and live here paying little or no tax into the government's coffers...Harriet Harman in the news tonight was interviewed and this loophole was brought up, and she admitted it still existed in spite of promises by Blair to close it years ago. Through allowing such people to take up residence here, the affect on the house prices in London has boomed removing many from ever being able to afford to buy property in the affluent parts of London. It is time this loophole was closed, because it is extremely unfair on full time residents in the UK who have to pay a large amount of their earnings in tax while others get away with barely anything.
She also said that she wanted to look into the ever widening gap between the rich and the poor??? She was also asked whether she was a socialist, because, if she was, why had such an important matter only just been raised again and why had it been allowed to come about in the first place under a socialist government? She declared herself a socialist and explained that they would have a debate on the issue...even the interviewer said ...another one...is that all you're going to do? or words to that effect...it's amazing now that there are conservatives who are openly congratulating Blair for continuing what Thatcher started...it just makes me want to throw up to hear that because it's true...if Gordon Brown starts trying to initiate more socialist solutions to today's problems within our society, he's going to have to undo a huge amount that Blair has done - with his help and co-operation - over the ten years Blair's been in charge. He'd better start outlining some of them soon, because if he doesn't, I think there are an awful lot of people who just won't bother to vote for anyone at the next General Election...the question is...will anyone believe him when he does, because Blair promised us the earth and our society today is more riven than it has been for decades. Cameron is now being touted as Blair's true successor...good bloody grief...it's probably true...Blair is a true blue conservative at heart and that's been a disaster for the Labour party. Trouble is, where do you start to heal the divisions now so blatantly there in our society? I don't know, and I've a horrible damned feeling there's no political party out there who does...
Hmmm...sorry, Lovely peeps, didn't mean to go on for so long, but feeling strongly today about some things...now, I wish you all a very relaxed evening, a restful night, sweet dreams and a big hug to one and all...oh, and Boston Legal fans...don't forget it's on tonight at 10

Time again
@ 30.05.2007 – 11:43:48
Hi, Lovely peeps, woke up to pouring rain and it's cold again
I'm not playing...this isn't fair, this is nearly summer and where's it gone? Didn't go for the paper with hubby this morning because couldn't face ploughing my way there in wind and wet. One thing..we get the Independent everyday and on Wednesday there's a Property section and I've noticed nearly all the properties shown in it in the UK are preposterously highly priced up to and over one and half million quite often...it's beyond me why the editor doesn't realise how far out of the majority of reader's pockets such houses are, so why keep on putting them in. It's like having your nose constantly rubbed in the dirt by showing you what you can't afford instead of showing you decent properties at reasonable prices. I should probably be telling him this, but my opinion isn't going to be listened to so why waste my time. I find the house prices all over the place now absurd..it's reached a point of madness...in the end, it's going to mean that children will inherit houses with huge morgages still attached to them if this continues, and selling them on might be one huge headache for them instead of a relief of their own situation quite often. Our house has increased hugely in value from the time we bought it seven years ago, but still nowhere near enough to move on to something just as nice elsewhere, and certainly not around our area where prices have truly gone insane. I don't know how this resolves itself apart from a massive drop in house prices then thousands will be caught in negative equity, which is a killer for any house owner. This is not a healthy situation for any country to be in, and, perhaps, the only way to slow the whole system down is via increasing bank rates, but again that hits house owners with large mortgages.
I feel very sorry indeed for the young today...so many will be faced with choosing between renting permanently and paying very high rents for often poor housing, or burdening themselves with wickedly high mortgage repayments every month in a period where jobs and careers are frequently only short term or contractual. Did we really have a Labour government for the last ten years? I can see nothing in our current situation that suggests they have done anything at all to remedy this dire situation...hmmm...but, I cannot see that the Tories will either if they get in again, and the LibDems will never win with our voting system so they're not going to be able to make any large impact on either of the two other parties on this matter.
I never thought I'd see the day when it's so difficult to decide whether it's worth voting or not...as people died to get the vote particularly for women, I've have always voted but now it seems I'm wasting my time because I can't vote for Labour after Blair and would never vote for the Conservatives, and the LibDems just can't get past the post with the unfair voting system so I've hit a brick wall. How sad, and damned depressing.
Oooh, I've not had a rant for a while, and didn't expect to go along this path this morning, but it suddenly struck me as immoral of the Independent to keep on showing hugely expensive properties every week to who? Who the hell are they showing them to, because the likes of my hubby and I are never in a million years ever going to be able to afford even the damned front door let alone the whole darned house, and there must be hundreds of thousands of readers just like us, so I got mad...
So, that's my rant over, Lovely peeps, I hope the weather is being kinder to some of you, and have a good day, and big hugs to one and all in the meantime. -
End of the day
@ 29.05.2007 – 22:29:40
Hi, Lovely peeps, I'm really whacked tonight, don't know why but I am, apart from sorting out the comp with hubby..well, half way anyway, I've done nothing much at all today and I can't stop yawning again...probably that's the problem...if I don't use my brain, I lose energy, alternatively, I need more sleep

I've just munched my way through three wheatmeal biscuits with butter and strawberry jam on them as a late night snack, and feel ready for bed, but know it's much to early yet. If I go now, I'll wake up around midnight and then I won't be able to get off to sleep again for hours, so it's matchsticks in the eyelids and try to wake up again.
So, have a restful night, sweet dreams and big hugs to one and all while I go off to find something to stir the old brain back into life for a couple of hours...

Netgear
@ 29.05.2007 – 16:22:45
Hi, Lovely peeps, gorgeous day today and had a really pleasant walk round for the paper after being stuck in for two days. I'm glad to say my Netgear for my broadband connection is now installed and is functioning fine...did have to get some help for which I was more than grateful because too gentle when putting in the PCI card so didn't instal it properly...the guy gave it a good shove and in it went
Must learn to be less cautious
Now, with a more than a bit of luck, I can drop this darned saga and get back to real life again and stop boring the pants of everybody here
The morning and afternoon are nearly over now so can't be bothered to do anything brain stretching for the rest of the day...it'll be dinner time soon...damn I forgot to take anything out of the freezer this morning, so it looks like it's going to be good old spag and sauce with parmesan cheese liberally grated on top...always a good standby.
All that's left for me to do now is to hope you've all had a good day, will have a relaxed evening, and big hugs to one and all. -
Sweet dreams
@ 28.05.2007 – 23:45:02
Hi, Lovely peeps, just seen Heroes and now I'm sitting at my comp while hubby is playing a game on his laptop that sounds like he's got seriously bad wind every few seconds
Heroes is getting much darker now...really really don't like Silar...the actor is well cast but his face is one that I don't like at all...I guess that's what I'm supposed to feel...hmmm...don't like Christopher Eccleston either (only Doctor Who series I didn't watch when he came into it) but still want to know what's going to happen in Heroes so will stay with it...
The day ended with a lovely evening saw blue sky for the first time for forty-eight hours..typical just as the holiday's finishing
I'm tired now...well I can't stop yawning, but know as soon as I get up and move around I'll wake up again so will say good night to everybody, have a restful night, sweet dreams and big hugs to one and all

Pigeons
@ 28.05.2007 – 16:07:07
Hi, Lovely peeps, just watched something really amusing...I noticed two pigeons on the roof over the road billing and cooing and obviously chatting each other up, then he mounts her and jumps off again...after that they stood with their backs to each other about a foot apart until she looks round again as if for more when another pigeon lands between them and the female departs hurriedly. The male pigeon turns round and realises another female is there and makes a beeline for her but she runs along the roof top to the end and then takes off leaving the male pigeon standing all alone...so much for my illusion that pigeons paired up and were faithful to one mate

Weatherwise, the sun has been making feeble efforts to break through the clouds and it's definitely a bit brighter now, but damned cold..we've had to put the heating on again...it's nearly June for goodness sake...
Nothing else exciting happening...have just watched Elektra for want of anything better to do on a wet afternoon...a bit of fun and Jennifer Gardner looked good in her outfits...
That's it for now, don't forget Heroes all you fans out there at ten o'clock...big hugs to one and all. -
Gales
@ 28.05.2007 – 12:31:55
Hi, Lovely peeps, good afternoon to you all. Well, let me rephrase that...rotten afternoon weatherwise...we've had rain and high winds, and looks set for the day. I came down for breakfast at about ten after a lie in while I listened to Start the Week...very interesting prog this morning..learned some very alarming things re the Congo..very depressing. My hubby had called up to me that the rain had turned the garden a vibrant lime green overnight so the rain was doing it a lot of good. I came downstairs to join him and poured out my breakfast cereal without taking a proper look at the garden..when I did I was amazed...his description of the garden was right...the gales last night had toppled my false acacia in its pot over and it's nine feet in height was now lying down one side of the garden
I couldn't believe he hadn't noticed, but he really hadn't...it crossed my mind that the pod he occupied in the Matrix must be malfunctioning seriously in its observational data
We had to abandon breakfast and go outside in the rain and haul it back upright, which we did and anchored it with several strands of garden twine, and returned to the house only to see it waving around again in the wind and threatening once again to fall over, so he had to go out again and put a heavy bag of gravel on it to keep it in place...fortunately that worked and we finished our breakfast. I still can't get over the fact that he didn't notice what had happened!!
Now, we're up and dressed and hubby's done a quick shop at Lidl's because they had a DABS radio in today and cheaper than elsewhere so bought one along with the rest of our shopping. Was hoping to get Jazz station, but learned it's not in our area yet...bummer..would have been good to just tune into it in the kitchen instead of having to listen to it on the TV upstairs in the living room...never mind..might reach us one day.
So, Lovely peeps, that was our morning. One piece of good news was I heard from Gennielynn, one of my friends on my list, who I've known for thirteen years now and who has visited us from Seattle. I was worried about her because she and I write very regularly and I hadn't heard from her for nine days, which is a long time for her not to write. It turns out the poor thing was unpacking some boxes of her art gear and there was a razor blade at the bottom of it and it sliced the tip of her finger off
Her son took her to the emergency department after she had stuck it back on and she had to have five stitches to reattach it...so if anyone feels like writing a comment to her, please do as she reads our blogs.
That's it for now...hope the sun is out for some of you, and that you have a good afternoon...big hugs to one and all in the meantime... -
Confusion
@ 27.05.2007 – 23:56:01
Hi, Lovely peeps, I've just watched the finale of this series of Lost, and I'm now very confused...the reviewer said that things were going to become much more clear, but it was a lie...damn, I've got to wait for the next series now to see if anything becomes even remotely clearer...this is one prog that has stumped me, and I guess a heck of a lot of other viewers...very clever really, because so many are cliched with disappointing predictable endings so hope this doesn't fade out with a whimper instead of a humdinger of an ending...one day.
Won't say anything else in case somebody hasn't had a chance to see the final two yet
Still pouring with rain so probably no chance of a good day tomorrow unfortunately. I think it's going to be a case of bolting down the hatches and just relaxing indoors until the hol is over...
So, lovely peeps, I wish you a restful night, sweet dreams and big hugs to one and all, and hope that at least some of you wake up to blue skies and warm sun...night night for now. -
Wet afternoon
@ 27.05.2007 – 16:30:02
Hi, Lovely peeps, what a dreary day it's been today...wet, wet, wet, but the garden's enjoying it even if hubby and I aren't. Really do want to get down to walking along the seashore again, but haven't made it yet this year...even in good April...too chilly but I'm hopeful June will give us a chance.
What do you do on a wet afternoon...why, watch a film of course if you're not reading other people's blogs and doing your own. Have just watched a Korean film I recorded last night on Film4 called 'The Eye'...wasn't bad at all and the ending was spectacular... Now, as you can see, I'm back to checking blogland again.
Can't wait until ten when the series finale of Lost starts with a double dose, and apparently a lot is made clear...I might have already guessed but will wait and see
So, lovely peeps, am about to go and start preparing my own Chinese meal with Chinese spare ribs and pork and prawn rice or maybe noodles with water chestnuts, onions and peppers, and hoi sin sauce and a dash of soya sauce...hmmm...hope it tastes as good as it sounds...well to me anyway
Hope you all have a good evening and big hugs to one and all

@ 27.05.2007 – 12:15:19
Hi, Lovely peeps,
I've been tagged by Davidjohn so here are seven facts about me.
1.I've been married for 37 years and love my hubby.
2.I've had three children but two died.
3.I'm partially disabled with a curvature of the spine.
4.I love art, writing, reading and films.
5.I love thinking and try to work out what life is all about.
6.I love walking along the seashore and talking with my hubby as we go.
7.I love the house I now live in but wish I could pick it up and move it to somewhere closer to some culture. Here are the rules. I am tagging Nannyogg, Sloshed&Vexed, Joebangles, Mat616, Purple Dragon and Chris&Kev and RogueMale.
Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog. I think I've got it right :-)) Big hugs to one and all. -
Harry
@ 26.05.2007 – 22:46:10
Hi, Lovely peeps, while hubby's been scouring the Net for the last three and a half hours, I've been watching Doctor Who followed by Harry Potter and the Goblets of Fire
I can't read the books, but I have seen all the films. I can't make up my mind whether I like them yet, but this one was very long and had quite a bit of filler in it..could have been a good three quarters of an hour shorter I think. I wouldn't go to the cinema to see any of them, but worth watching on TV if you've nothing better to do for fantasy fans
Doctor Who is a continuing story so have to wait until next week to see what happens to him...won't say any more in case his devotees haven't seen this one yet
Funny seeing Doctor Who (David Tennant) in Harry Potter playing a baddie
It's been an amazingly quiet day here with hubby playing on his laptop and me on my desktop both in the same room and exchanging the odd bit of conversation, and me reading out the odd blog to him, which sometimes registers sometimes not, depending on what he's doing at the time. We met properly for lunch and dinner then went our separate ways
Well, I can't think of anything profound to add here so I won't. I'll just say that I hope you had a good day, you will have a restful night and sweet dreams and send big hugs to one and all...night night Lovely peeps. -
Good afternoon
@ 26.05.2007 – 12:33:18
Hi, Lovely peeps, good afternoon to you all. We woke up to gorgeous sun but a chilly wind, but not complaining as it should have been raining
My intention this morning was to get up at a reasonable time, which I did...9.15, made hubby a cup of tea and me one too then got washed, dressed, walked round for the paper and came back to a cup of coffee and a ciggie for me...found in the paper How to give up Smoking so read it and now have good intentions but want to smoke the ones I've bought...refuse to throw the damned things away
too much like a waste of money...rather send them up in smoke
The reason why I got up early for my hubby anyway...was we were going to set up the Netgear this morning, but having read how you put the PCI card into the comp have chickened out and definitely have decided I need some help. So, it's all on hold again. Netgear did get back to me with a letter telling me where to find an updated driver..so helpful
Don't know how to do that. But did say Netgear definitely compatible with Windows XP...hmmm question is do I believe them?
With that not going to be done, we're going to have a lazy day and am now watching some thicker clouds beginning to roll in, and just hoping the forecast will be wrong. Where the bloody hell has global warming gone...May's been awful, and April dry as a bone...don't tell me the seasons are now going backwards, and we had our summer last winter
That's it for now...have a lovely afternoon, hope the sun is shining for you as well, and big hugs to everybody. -
No news
@ 26.05.2007 – 00:00:49
Hi, Lovely peeps, spent the afternoon on my Flash tutorial...it's really hard but I'm getting there bit by painful bit. Did my couch potato bit all evening with four episodes of different progs tonight so am a bit square eyed but very relaxed

Nothing more to add, hubby's at work and I'm about to hit the sack. I wish you all a very relaxed Bank Holiday Weekend and have a restful night, sweet dreams and big hugs to one and all
-
Still warm
@ 25.05.2007 – 12:01:08
Hi, Lovely peeps, good morning to you all...I actually got to say that for a change. It's been 'good afternoon' several times this week before I had time to do a post. Made sure I got up earlier this morning, and made hubby and me two teas and woke him up by 9.15...considering he went to bed at 6.30...thought I shouldn't try any earlier than that. Still warm and sunny but cloudier than yesterday, which is a bit depressing because the forecast for the Bank hol weekend is dire...rain right across the whole country...just had to stop then...my damned connection dropped again
Typical...Now, I won't write much more in case it goes again, so have a good afternoon, and hope your days go well for all of you...big hugs for now...you might see this twice as system ground to a halt again so have re posted this...nothing changes

Evening song
@ 24.05.2007 – 20:33:32
Hi, Lovely peeps, good evening to you all. I'm sitting here on a beautiful warm evening and there's a blackbird singing its heart out just outside the window. Sounds so beautiful...soon I'm off to watch the final of Bones, then Cold Case then potter around until it's time for bed around midnight.
I love nights like this when the air is balmy at 8.30 and there's a sense of calm everywhere. It's so still with no breeze at all and you can't hear anything except the birds.
Hmmm...I've nothing more to add now except to say I hope everybody else is having a peaceful evening, will have a restful night and sweet dreams...so big hugs to one and all and goodnight. -

Sun, and more sun
@ 24.05.2007 – 12:34:29
Hi, Lovely peeps, gorgeous hot day today. Had a lovely walk for the paper with hubby and came back to good news in the post...actually got a fairly large rebate after overpaying a bill
That's a real change
Last night didn't end with a restful watching off Boston Legal...discovered my hubby's recording was jumping all over the place so had to do a rapid quick swap of videos to record second copy so that he could see it properly. Now he has bad quarter of an hour on one video and good three quarters on another
I think it was the revenge of the machines last night in every direction.
Hubby contacted a friend at work last night and he's got another friend who knows all about comps so is putting him in touch with us to put our Netgear stuff in...Netgear support has sent three emails now saying thanks for my continuing patience but they need to consult further on my case re Netgear crashing Windows XP??? You would think it would be a fairly easy thing to answer unless it's true and they're baulking at admitting it...ah well, time passeth and I get a little older every second...I want everything now to happen quickly as time isn't just passing, it's flying by
Well, Lovely peeps, that's it for now, have a great afternoon and will get back sometime...big hugs to one and all in the meantime. -
Very annoyed
@ 23.05.2007 – 22:41:39
Hi, Lovely peeps, just got ready to go down and watch my fav prog on TV Boston Legal and my comp crashes after a Microsoft update and a restart demand...bloody wonderful...kept restarting - five times then decided enough is a damned enough and pressed F8 to take me back to last good startup and it worked but that had run me past BosLeg start time by some ten minutes. Now, I've got to wait until it's finished and watch it at 11...
If it isn't glitches, it's damned Microsoft itself messing up our comps...next time it tells me it's got updates I'll refuse, never use Internet Explorer in any case, always use Mozilla Firefox so probably don't need half the darned updates they keep sending down to me. This one was about software updates and Windows installer or something like that so watch out for it..nasty little bugger - 1.2mgs of it.
Hmmm...
Now, I need a ciggy and I've already smoked my day's allowance
I'm going to sneak another one from a pack I keep for emergencies...so I'll say good night to one and all, have a restful night, sweet dreams and big hugs to everybody

Hi, Lovely peeps, this is just a quick reminder to all you fans out there of Boston Legal..if you haven't noticed yet...it's on tonight at 10 on Living instead of tomorrow, so don't miss it

Gnashing teeth
@ 23.05.2007 – 12:45:36
Hi, Lovely peeps, gorgeous day again...I am having a calm day...if I say it enough times I'll believe it...today was Netgear Range Max router and PCI card day...thought I'd check on the Net how to set them up as there are no written instructions in either bit of equipment when I opened the box - you have to put a CD in...and that, according to a very large number of reviews I found is when the trouble starts...Windows XP isn't compatible with this PCI card...in fact it crashes Windows XP and there's a message written in the box from Netgear saying that during the installation you will receive a warning that this product isn't compatible with Windows XP but to ignore it and continue anyway??? If you do, your computer is going crash in every direction and you can't restore it...
This is a warning to anybody else out there who might be tempted to purchase this product and has Windows XP...don't!
I haven't put it in because of these warnings, but am now stuck with a very expensive lot of equipment and can't get a refund because the plastic covering has been removed in order to read the instructions...I've written to Netgear with a strong but politely worded complaint and am now waiting to hear from them.
I am just so p...d off with it all now, and wish I had not gone on to BT and chosen NTL's phoneline instead. If I had, I would have had a very good broadband connection ages ago, but now I'm tied in for the next eighteen months with Pipex and can't get out of it until then.
Does anyone want to buy Netgear equipment for their compatible Windows?
That's it for now...have a good afternoon, actually I will as well because I'm glad I checked on the Net whether Netgear was lying or not first, and still have a functioning comp...big hugs to one and all in the meantime. -
Night night

Good night to one and all...I saw my film and I had seen it and it wasn't Martin it was Charlie Sheen...hmmm...never mind, it's wasn't too bad. Had some fun with Meez.com...and put up my avatar, but got four when I only really want one like Chyna...I'll have to find out how it's done tomorrow

That's it for now...sweet dreams to you all, and now it's already tomorrow, or today??? Big hugs to you all... -
Late today
@ 22.05.2007 – 20:10:43
Hi, Lovely peeps, good evening to everybody. Woke up to gorgeous sunshine and went out for a quick shop then came home and started to play my Flash tutorial movies most of the day. I definitely need to go through them several times before the sequences sink in, but they were very informative, and free, which was great.
Did discover my Flash doesn't have as many filters as the one being used by the tutor, which is unfortunate because very useful, but will probably find a way round that in time.
Also, my PCI network card arrived to connect my PC to my new router, and will tackle that tomorrow. Today, I've had a steady, and fairly fast, connection, which is a first
Maybe the powers that be knew I'd bought all this gear to get just that
Hubby's gone to work now, and I'm going to watch 'The Arrival' with Martin Sheen - a sci-fi film I don't think I've seen, in an hour for my evening TV fix
Apart from that, the day has been peaceful and happy and there's a lovely almost clear blue sky still, which reminds me once again we're heading for summer now.
That's it for now, have a great evening, a restful night, sweet dreams and a big hug to one and all

Hi, Lovely peeps, this is a real quickie...if anyone has SKY Indie, try and see 'Don't Move'...an Italian film with Penelope Cruz and Guiseppe Castellito. My hubby and I have just watched it, and it was excellent...great acting and a rivetting story of passion, love and human relationships.

Hi, Lovely peeps, today is grey and I got up later than I wanted to because I missed Andrew Marr's prog Start the Week and only got the last quarter of an hour...will probably listen to first part on Listen again sometime. Saw the weather was dreary and wet so told hubby he could go shopping on his own...something he doesn't mind doing at all, and there were only a few things to get in any case, so I'm sitting here still in my dressing gown going through 54 emails that Hotmail didn't tell me were sitting there until today, so please accept my apologies to all who wrote to me and made comments on my blogs or answered my comments, for failing to respond to most of them...I have tried to respond to a couple of urgent ones.
Now I'm off to make myself decent and to do some boring stuff around the place, then who knows what I'll do for the rest of the day...oh, I know...check out my new prog I got yesterday...will let you know how I do when I've succeeded in finding my way around it.
Have a great day, and big hugs to one and all.
