Mystery spider

Hi to everybody...creepy crawlie this time...after Semafu's post on Spiders and hating them, it reminded me of a really nasty looking one I found in my garden maybe two or three years ago now...It looked just like this - a genuine black widow

Apparently, the false widow spider does inhabit our area of the country and looks like this, and has a dodgy bite. This doesn't look like the one found in my garden unfortunately.

I'm a wee bit cautious now when I poke my hands behind pots after seeing that amazing spider in my garden...

OOOoo spiders make me CRINGE!!
There was a spider like that, not sure if it was a black widow but it was in my BED!!!! I was shufflin my pillows and out comes a massive black spider..needless to say i SCREAMED!! and made my uncle throw it our the window!! *shudder* ...great blog btw!

  It was a bit scary I must admit...it's why I went back to see if I could find it again, I was going to take it out of the garden and deposit it outside somewhere, but never did find it again...mind you - wasn't poking around too hard in case it got me...BLOL...

I'll have to show this piccy to Peter. He loves all this creepy crawly stuff. There isn't much he cant identify. Did you post a pic of that moth you saw. I was behind in posts with all the work days.

  Nothing, I just happen to have found that mystery one and then Semafu wrote about the False Widow Spider and I checked it out and realised I might have had the real darned thing in the garden..BLOL...

Ugh spiders I hate them, large ones small ones they are all horrible to me. If i spot one anywhere in the bedroom I insist Rob removes it before I will even think of getting into bed.

  I know loads of people hate them but they don't hurt anybody...LOL...I think it's because they move so fast people fear them...we had two that regularly ran around the living room...George and Henry we called them, but they were definitely Georgina and Henrietta because the small ones are the males and the big ones the females...they disappeared after a while and haven't seen any for ages but know they around because there are cob webs LOL
