Hi to everybody...didn't sleep well last night...I was cold and finally changed into a warmer winter nightie and then did go to sleep but woke again at 5 and couldn't get back to sleep after that so made a cup of tea and read my book...heard hubby come in at around 6.10 but didn't call out to him and he went off to his room, heard him snoring loudly a few minutes later
and I turned off the light again and woke up at 10...
Hubby went off to Lidl's armed with errant tap to see the manager who recognized him as a regular customer, gave him an immediate refund of the said tap and a promise that we'd get a call today after he'd spoken to head office saying we could either have a full refund of the costs incurred to have it plumbed in or a credit for goods for the said amount or a partial refund or credit of the amount...I'm hoping it'll be the former..it certainly should be, but will wait and see...
Dull and cloudy today so yesterday's trip to the sea was a real bonus...now back to usual August weather ![]()
Hope you have all had a good morning and will have a good afternoon...big hugs to one and all, and may the sun be with you...at least somewhere in the world...

Oh, I can't sleep when I am cold either, particularly if my feet are cold. The rest of me can be snuggly, but if my feet are cold - no sleep for me

Hope you get your costs refunded.-

Strange that, isn't it...my body must be warm to sleep...the room I'm in has two outside walls and gets very cold in the winter so I have an electric blanket to keep the bed warm until I'm in it...as long as that heat stays, I'll sleep, but if it goes I'm awake...big hugs to you and I hope we get a refund too...LOL...

I put my leccie blankie on as well, just as I get into bed. I read and have a cup of tea, by which time the bed is cosy, so light and blankie are switched off at the same time, and I can sleep

I remember when I was a kid. The house we lived in had no heating and in the winter I woke up and had to scratch the ice off the inside of the window to see what the weather was like. I don't know how I could stand it.-

That's probably why you can't sleep with it being cold...we lived in a cold house as well with no heating other than fires and paraffin stoves...bet it was absolutely freezing as well...I was only a year old when the Thames froze over so I think I've a memory of that hidden somewhere BLOL...and just a bit of inf...LOL...weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 8.5 again so another pound and I'll be okay again...amazing what skipping a full meal in the evening can do for the pounds...LOL...hope yours stays stable...

Is that 8 stone 5lbs? Gosh, you're a whole stone lighter than me (and then some). Perhaps I should skip my evening meal as well. I eat WAY too much

yup, but I'm only five feet one so not tall...the rod weighs five pounds so I should deduct that but always forget...I'm not big boned either, but the lighter I am the more comfortable my back and that's the most important thing for me...it's strange, I've never missed an evening meal when I smoked, but after I gave it up, it seemed logical to just have a light snack on the day's hubby was at work and it's really worked very well...I was told by a doctor that if you put on weight, you're eating more than your body can burn off in energy and it turns to fat, so it looks like he was right...I don't need those extra meals, and I don't feel hungry either...first time I did it this way after stopping smoking and so well pleased...

Ah, you're shorter than me as well. I'm 5'4 with a small frame, but not delicate. I was told the same by my Doctor - I was hoping my thyroid was off, but he told me it was fine and that if I ate too much, I would be fat

sounds blunt like mine was...at the time I was already eating like a bird because smoking took away my appetite so the idea of cutting what I ate then in half as he advised was pretty daunting
Now, I can eat well most of the time if have these four days off in the evening...much better all round...never hope your thyroid's off...hubby's was off for seven years before it was diagnosed and nearly killed the poor guy...-

I've had a problem with my thyroid before, and my sister and Mum both have problems. Fortunately mine was temporary.

Hubby's Mum had a underactive one and hubby's inherited it unfortunately...our son's ex partner had an overactive one. Either way, they cause serious health problems if not treated...hope yours stays temporary...and I don't need to tell you to get regularly checks of it, because it creeps up on you when it first starts going wrong and you just think you're run down and tired, and you only find out by accident or an observant doc sometimes what the real prob is...

My problem is low iron.
