  • A very full day

Hi to everybody...good afternoon to you all...nice relaxed morning after a very busy day yesterday. We did manage to get to the theatre to see No Place Like Home after doing the shopping and having an excellent sandwich in Yates's Globe cafe...it's a pub cafe and we thought it might turn out to be not very good, but the bacon and brie (I actually asked hubby to get me bacon and cream cheese, but, by the time he'd reached the bar to put the order in, he'd forgotten what I wanted so ended up with brie instead) He had a brie and cranberry sandwich and both turned out to be lovely and fresh and extremely tasty and well packed so no complaints there...
We got to the Lighthouse with a quarter of an hour to spare so got sorted and then spent the next two hours being thoroughly entertained by a professional group of actors who clearly enjoyed what they were doing, and it was funny, lighthearted and typically British humour. The theatre was over 80% full, which was excellent especially as it was a matinee so we were well pleased with that...afterwards we caught the bus home with only a five minute wait in the bus station opposite and had fish and peas for dinner, then settled down to watch Letters from Iwo Jima on Sky Box Office at 8pm. It was very good, again not sentimental, but most interesting to see the battle from the Japanese perspective...all that hubby and I got off it was the utter absurdity of war and the sheer destructiveness of it on the lives of ordinary men and their families, most of whom would much rather have been back at home and carrying on with their lives until warmongers snatched their lives away from them and used them to carry out their insane desires for power and domination....damned them...
That should have been the end of a very enjoyable day, but we discovered there was a Spanish thriller on BBC4 after that film so switched over quickly missing only about five minutes and watched The Night of the Sunflowers. It turned out to be excellently acted, was a very well portrayed story of a disastrous act of revenge and well worth a viewing if it's ever on again....
So, my friends, we had a glut of entertainment yesterday that ended at midnight when we went off to bed well pleased to see three excellent things in one day :)
I hope you had as good a day as we had. We're both well now too so I managed to fight off the bug from taking a hold on me like it did on hubby...hope you have a good day today and I send you all big hugs, and may life be kind to you wherever you are...

  • Apologies

Hi to everybody...before I say anything else...I owe everybody an apology for the lovely mess I made of last night's post...for a start as Walrus reminded me, and Phil...Clint Eastwood directed Flags of our Fathers not as I put it Clint Eastward :-/...and what's worse I said that the Japanese made Letters from Iwo Jima from the Japanese soldiers' perspective...wrong! Clint Eastwood made both films back to back to give both side of the story...what a mess...blame it on the late hour and mind still a bit befuddled with fighting this bug...
Now...that's out of the way, hope you all have a good morning on this grey day...but not cold...so we're going to try to make it to the theatre this afternoon as I feel okay today...though woke up feeling as if I had a temperature and then discovered hubby had put the heating on and the bedroom was like a furnace :))
So, time to sort myself out...have a great day and big hugs to everybody...

  • Nearly forgot

Hi to everybody...can't go to bed without a chuckle...nearly forgot tonight...:)

Mr. Jones had hired a new secretary. She was young, sweet
and very polite. While taking dictation one morning, she
noticed that his fly was open. Upon leaving the room she said,
"Mr. Jones, your barracks door is open."
He was puzzled by her remark, but later that day he
noticed that his zipper was open. So, he decided to have a
little fun with his secretary and called her back into his
office. "By the way Miss Smith," he said, "When you noticed
my barracks door open this morning, did you also notice a
    soldier standing at attention ?"
"Why no sir," she replied, "All I saw was a little
disabled veteran sitting on two duffel bags."

    --------

A woman walks into a hardware store and says
"I want to buy a hinge."
The clerk says "Do you wanna screw for that
    hinge?"
The woman says, "No, but I'll blow you for
    the toaster."

    --------

A town in Poland had only one cow and it stopped
    giving milk.
The townspeople did a little research and discovered
they could get a cow from Moscow for 2000 rubles -
or one from Minsk for only 1000 rubles. So, naturally,
--- they got the cow from Minsk.

It was a great cow: had a wonderful disposition, and
gave lots of milk and lots of cream. Everybody loved it
dearly. The people decided they would mate the cow
and get more cows like it, and then they would never
have to worry about their milk supply again.

So they got a bull and led the cow and the bull into
the pasture. When the bull came in from the right to
mount the cow, the cow moved to the left. When the bull
moved in to mount the cow from the left, the cow moved
to the right. This went on all day.

Finally, in desperation, the people decided to go ask
the rabbi what to do. After all he was very wise.

They told him the story. "Rabbi, we've tried all day
to mate our cow. When the bull moves in from the right
the cow moves left and when the bull moves in from the
left the cow moves to the right. What do we do?"

The Rabbi thought a moment and asked, "Did you buy this
    cow from Minsk?"

"Rabbi!" they replied as one, "You are so wise! We never
said we bought the cow from Minsk. How did you know that?"

The Rabbi said, sadly, "My wife is from Minsk."

    -----

Big hugs to one and all...definitely night night this time :)

  • A very good film

Hi to everybody...tonight, hubby and I decided to go to Sky Box Office and watch 'Flags of our Fathers' directed by Clint Eastward about the battle for Iwo Jima...
It was a very well made film and gritty as well...though that's putting it mildly...it showed the horrors of war and the effect on the survivors very well...but it also revealed something I didn't know about the finances of the USA towards the end of the war...I won't say anything else about that, because the one thing I hate is somebody telling me all about a film, which I've yet to see and want to...
I can highly recommend this one though...and there's an interesting addition to this...the Japanese have brought out a film about it at the same time called 'Letters from Iwo Jima' from their perspective, which some people consider to be even better than the American film, but I will see that tomorrow evening with hubby and let you know our opinion for what it's worth after seeing them both  The one thing that's good about the film tonight, it wasn't sentimental at all, and I didn't actually shed a tear until the very end when the real photographs of the individuals in it were shown, and actual pictures of the beaches of Iwo Jima that the horror truly hit me then I cried, because these were the real people and most were dead...
So, my friends, that's the end of my day approaching...I feel a lot better today, and it looks like we might even make it to the theatre tomorrow...the weather though has changed and it's been dreary and wet today but not really too cold...just dreary and grey...hope it's a bit brighter tomorrow as I hate going out in the wet...
All that's left now is to hope you have a restful night, sweet dreams, and I send you all big hugs... night night...

  • Good morning to you

Hi to everybody...it's still one minute to go to midday so still morning...so good morning to you all :) Cloudy today, and I didn't go for the paper because still feeling a bit one degree under...hubby went instead and, at the same time, exchanged a dud lot of videos for a new batch ...very frustrating because I lost a good Japanese film on Film4 from a couple of night's back with one of the duds and one episode of Numbers...kept jumping all over the place...pack of three and every one jumped...grrrh...anyway got a credit note for them as we've lost the bill so that can go towards the bird food we buy from the same store...these birds are costing us an arm and a leg now...about £10 a month...they're eating three fat balls and a tube of seed every other day...and one fat ball vanished completely off the face of the earth within a half a day of me putting it out...even the string holding it together went???
Hmmm..also woke up this morning with two numb toes again so think the bug is playing with my spine as well...didn't realise a virus can attack the area where the rod is attached...not at all funny...
One more bit of news...Pipex Homecall called again to speak to hubby even though it was me who set up the account...but, I also managed to talk to the guy on another phone as well as hubby, discovered that we're not owed anything because we haven't been charged for the first six months under a special offer they had with us...and, according to the little chappy we spoke to, we're still not disconnected from Broadband with them...it says pending on our account...considering I informed them by email and phone that we were going over to Virgin Media on the 16th September, you would think they could have pulled the plug on us by now, but apparently not....and was also informed by the manager that he would disconnect us as well...fair words and little action...and a glorious mix up on the bills from their end, which left us utterly confused, but think it's actually right now...
Just the last bill to come in and we're told the following month, we'll receive a rebate as we're going to be overcharged a bit as we've paid for four days when Pipex and us are no longer connected...bloody hell...isn't life complicated nowadays... did learn one thing...in the next eighteen or so months...every person in the country will be able to receive at least eight mgs of download because there's going to be a signal sent out that bypasses all telephone exchanges and delivers the signal directly to your house....:))
I shall wait and see whether that ever materialises and who owns it and sells it to us???
So, my friends, that's it for now...have a good day, hope the sun shines on you, and big hugs to one and all....

  • Two animes for you

Hi to everybody....here's something different for a change...hope you enjoy them...

Big hugs to one and all, have a good evening...

  • Limbo land

Hi to everybody...good morning to you all...not quite sure where I am today bug wise...woke up at five in the morning and had to go downstairs and get myself a MaxLemsip...was definitely bunged up...woken up by hubby at nine to tell me Melvin Bragg's prog was about to start about Socrates. He bought me a cup of tea and I sat in bed and listened to it...very interesting, but didn't learn much new because already knew a fair bit about this particular philosopher...but still interesting to listen to the different experts on the subject...then got up and had breakfast and took another lemsip and went off to buy the papers with hubby whose still blocked up but improving slowly...this is definitely not a speedy bug...it's a stayer and hard to get rid of unfortunately...hmmm...damn...still don't know whether we're going to make the theatre on Saturday afternoon...
Outside, it's gorgeous but now the touch of winter coming is in the air...first time I've put on my proper winter coat and needed it too...but still a lovely pleasant walk round to the shop...
One thing...we did see a very moving and well acted film last night on Sky Indie called 'Yesterday'. It was about a South African woman and her daughter, Beauty, and her husband. He gave her AIDS and it was the story of her determination to survive until her daughter was old enough to go to school...the one thing that shocked me was the attitude of the other women in her village...they threw her and her husband out of it and there was absolutely no compassion or help offered...only one woman helped her and she was the teacher who wasn't from the village...it was also revealed that in a neighbouring village, when one woman discovered she had AIDS, they stoned her to death...as there are millions dying of the disease in Africa, this came as a shocking revelation...I also found the scene when the woman had to tell her husband what they both had terrible...but that's as far as I'll go with revealing anything else about it...hubby and I can both recommend it as a thought provoking, beautifully acted and very moving film about a disease that's been allowed to run rampant through the entirety of Africa and that's a crime against humanity...
So, my friends, a rather mundane morning overall, but just taking it easy now as I do feel I'm fighting something inside and I want to win out...as this is virtual land, I can safely hug you all and hope you all have a very good day, and that you'll avoid the darned germs and bugs floating around now... speak to you later...

  • Tonight's laughter

Hi to everybody...here's a threesome to send you off to the land of nod hopefully with a smile on your sweet chops...

One day, while an elephant was walking through the woods,
she got a thorn stuck in her foot. She saw an ant passing
and asked him to help her get the thorn out.

The ant asked, "What do I get in return?"

The elephant replied, "If you get it out, I'll have sex
    with you."

So the ant gets busy taking the thorn out. When he finally
gets it out he looks up at the elephant and says "OK it's out,
    are you ready?".

The elephant thinks, "Hey, what's a little ant gonna do
anyways?" The ant climbs up and starts to work away. Just then
a monkey overhead drops a coconut on the elephant's head.

"Ouch" screams the elephant, and the ant responds,
    "Yeah take it all bitch."

The young lady entered the doctor's office carrying an
infant. "Doctor," she explained, "the baby seems to be
ailing. Instead of gaining weight, he lost three ounces
this week." The medic examined the child and then
started to squeeze the girl's breasts. He then unbuttoned
her blouse, removed the bra and began powerfully sucking
on one nipple. "Young lady," he finally announced,
"no wonder the baby is losing weight, you haven't
any milk!" "Of course not!" she shrieked. "It's not
    my child, it's my sister's!"

    ----------

A bus stops and two Italian men get on. They seat
themselves and engage in animated conversation.
The lady sitting behind them ignores their conversation
at first, but her attention is galvanized when she
    hears one of the men saying the following;
"Emma come first. Denna I come. Two asses, they come
together.I come again. Two asses, they come together
again. I come again and pee twice. Denna I come
    once-a more."

"You fowl-mouthed swine," retorted the lady
indignantly. "In this country we don't talk about
    our sex lives in public!"

Hey, coola down lady," said the man, "Imma justa
tellun my friend howa to spella Mississippi."

Have a restful night, sweet dreams and great big hugs to all of you...

  • ooh, real early

Hi to everybody on this chilly but gorgeous autumn morning - haven't seen 7.45 for a long time and the doorbell goes and I stumble out of bed and go downstairs to find parcelforce guy standing there holding my delivery of gourmet food that I ordered on line a couple of days ago...it could have been delivered up to and even after 3pm...standing there bleary eyed in my nightie I clasped said box handed to me by smiling delivery guy and nearly broke my back...it was really heavy...more or less dropped it on the floor, called out to hubby to rescue me as didn't want to risk busting my back carrying it through to the kitchen and there we unpacked it...at 8.15 the doorbell goes again and there's another parcel for me for clothes this time I'd bought online...all so early! And there was me expecting to be forced to stay in all day...lucky me...anyway...all the food is now packed away in fridges, cupboards and freezers whenever a treat is required and I tried on the three articles I bought and, I couldn't believe it...all of them were very well made and fitted me perfectly and I looked okay in all of them...I'm really, really chuffed...usually I have to send nearly all I try on back, but this time all of them fitted and hubby thought they looked really good on me too so success and I'm a happy bunny this morning but also a bit poorer too :))
Am in danger zone right now...the need to buy things is burning a hole in my fingers so decided to spend a bit of my hard won savings on me :) The food is just out of the housekeeping so that doesn't count...it's just to check out what gourmet food is all about really and the company has an excellent reputation...came beautifully packaged with its on little icebags at the base as well...just one more parcel supposed to arrive today but got a feeling this one won't...two out of three is good going so no complaints...
So, my lovely friends, that's my morning so far...I hope you all have a good one...we're about to go to Lidl's for the weekly shop as hubby now feels well enough to push the trolley back home so before the rain returns, we're going...great big hugs to you all...

  • Chuckle a minute

Hi to everybody...here's three to hopefully put a smile upon your faces...

The tri stages of sex in marriage-

    1.Tri-weekly
    2.Try-weekly
    3.Try-weakly

The new nun goes to her first confession. She tells the
priest that she has a terrible secret and he tells her
that her secret is safe in the sanctity of the confessional.
She says, "Father, I never wears panties under my habit."
The priest chuckles and says, "That's not so serious.
Say five Hail Marys, five Our Fathers and do five
cartwheels on your way to the altar.

A woman with really hairy underarms boards a
crowded bus. Unable to find a seat, she settles for
hanging onto one of the poles.

A drunk man next to her stares at her for three
minutes, then tells her, "I love a woman that does
    aerobics."

The woman replies angrily, "I don't DO aerobics!"

The drunk man then looks at the woman and says,
"Then how did you get your leg up so high?"

Big hugs to one and all...

  • The new moi :)

Hi to everybody...well, my lovely hairdresser has been and has restyled my hair for me, and this is the result...the new moi HLOL....

    jenray copy

Big hugs to one and all...and hope you're having a good afternoon...

  • Another hair day

Hi to everybody...hope you all had a very good morning...here it's sunny but cool in the wind according to hubby who went to the docs this morning and found out he's got a chest infection at the top of his chest only so that's good news in a way...if I hadn't made an appointment with the doc last week, and my prob with my leg cleared up so just swapped the appointment to him, he would have had to wait at least three days and then it would have got a hold on the whole of his lungs...antibiotics now should clear it pretty quickly and leave him well enough to go to the theatre on Saturday, then he's on hols for a week..??? Seems to have been on a lot lately and in between having nasty bugs...I think it's because he eats works food for four days of every week instead of my healthy meals and gets run down, but he's had loads of vit pills and other health pills so shouldn't really catch these darned bugs, but it seems he does, and, touch wood, I haven't this time...
My stomach is rumbling furiously now...too early for lunch yet, but will definitely be ready for it when it arrives in half an hour :)
This afternoon, my hairdresser comes on her usual six weekly visit and I hope she'll change this hairstyle of mine to something I can feel happy with, because this style just doesn't sit happily with me...I still look like the little French girl in the yoghurt ad who gets the boy's marbles back for him when bullies take it off him :)) This style is hers and I'm too darned old for it...
Will let you know if I end up with something that suits me...or not...BLOL...I'm assuming anybody out there will be the slightest bit interested in what I end up looking like :))
So, my friends, that's my rather boring morning...hubby's now trawling the net on his laptop while I'm on my comp so the house is very very quiet...in this silent abode apart from the odd click click of keyboards, I hope you have a good afternoon, and send you all big hugs...

  • Thumbsucker

Hi to everybody...hubby and I have just watched on Sky Indie a film called 'Thumbsucker' with Keanu Reeves, Gwyneth Paltrow and Lou Pucci, and found it very good indeed...I was quite surprised by it because a coming of age film can be pretty tedious, but this rang so many bells for me as a mother, for hubby as a father and the son's efforts to overcome what was seen as a problem, namely his thumbsucking still at the age of seventeen...if you want a thoughtful, intelligent film that doesn't drag anywhere, I can highly recommend this one...
We also saw prior to this on CNN, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran's address to the University of Columbia where he was introduced by the head of the University in a most impolite way but hubby and I thought he maintained a quiet dignity, his responses were intelligent, thought provoking, and it was clear there was a thinking man standing there whose country had suffered dreadfully at the hands of Saddam Hussein and the CIA over the last twenty eight years...one or two answers clearly were answered tongue in cheek concerning the fact that Iran doesn't have any homosexuals living in it so is not a problem there...and that women are honoured to such an extent that the legal responsibilities of the country and the family I presume all fall on the shoulders of the men so that women can be free to be what they are best at namely being mothers, but they have positions of authority as well in the government and are highly educated as well he stressed...if you get a chance to listen to him, it's well worth it...he was an academic prior to becoming Iran's President and his intelligence shows clearly...no doubt there's a degree of truth stretching about what goes on in his country, but overall the points he was making about many aspects of our world were all valid and worth noting...
So, my friends, that's it for tonight...I hope you have a restful one, sweet dreams and I send you all big hugs...

  • Tornadoes in Britain

Hi to everybody...just a little piece of news in case you missed it...

Up to 11 tornadoes strike Britain

Tornadoes ripped through parts of Britain today, leaving a trail of destruction behind them.

Reports suggested that as many as 11 twisters formed separately as a cold front moved north-eastwards across England.

Local residents reported hearing "horrendous" noises as violent winds tore down trees, pulled off roofs, knocked off chimney pots and in once case overturned a caravan.

Hayley Stroud, 27, described the twister that hit Farnborough, Hampshire, at about 7.30am as "like something out of The Wizard Of Oz".

Terrence Meaden, deputy head of tornado research group Torro, said five reports were "looking certain" to be confirmed as tornadoes.

They came from Farnborough; Luton, Bedfordshire; Nuneaton, Warwickshire; Breaston, Derbyshire; and Eye, Cambridgeshire.

Dr Meaden said further research may well confirm that another six tornadoes - in Northampton; Nottingham; Scunthorpe; Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire; Long Eaton, Derbyshire; and Ollerton, Nottinghamshire.

Although there was widespread damage to properties and vehicles across England, there were no immediate reports of injuries.

The Met Office said a weather system "conducive" to tornadoes travelled across the country from west to east this morning.

A spokesman said localised winds had gusted up to gale force speeds of 40 to 45mph.

    Big hugs....

  • Bright and sunny

Hi to everybody...good morning to you all on this gorgeous sunny day down here...hubby's up and about but not well at all yet...needs now to go to the docs tomorrow to get his chest checked out because he thinks it might be infected :( Bad news that...on Saturday, we're supposed to be going to the theatre for the first time for years and, if he's feeling rotten, it's going to be pointless going...and what's even more infuriating is there's no refunds on the tickets...amazing...I never realised until I checked on the back of them that you only get a refund if the play is cancelled or is incomplete and has to stop half way through...:`(
That's the last time I buy tickets for a play so far in advance...
I don't know yet whether I have his bug or not...I feel a bit muzzy headed but that could just be the change in temperature outside and the need to put the heating on in the evening last night...I'm more fed up than ill I think...I do get frustrated that my lovely hubby manages to time his illnesses just as we're due to go out somewhere nice that can't be transferred to another date...and I manage to get to such things really rarely while he goes out to work and sees other people every week...mind you, having said that, I know he'd much rather be at home all the time, but he's somebody who's perfectly content to stay indoors listening to his music, reading his books or surfing the Net, and only decides to go out if I suggest it because I'm going stir crazy stuck inside all the time...:-/
Ah, well, must try to be patient about this...he doesn't do it deliberately and it's not his fault people bring their darned bugs into work instead of staying at home and getting rid of them first, but that's not encouraged in today's world...take a bloody Lemsip, according to the ad, and you'll be fit enough to carry on working even if you're nearly at death's door, and you can spread your germs to all in sundry once you're in your workplace...idiotic world we've created...
Enough of this, smack hand...I'm feeling sorry for myself...so, my friends, I'll stop moaning now and wish you all a good day, and send you big hugs...hope you're feeling fit and well and that the sun is also shining on you.... for now...

  • Happy Birthday to I_am_Xenon...

Hi to everybody...here's a birthday wish for I_am_Xenon...I hope you have a great day and send you great big hugs and loads of love XXX

    BirthdayWishes

  • Day's ending

Hi to everybody...the heavens opened all afternoon here and plunged us into what to all intents and purposes looked like late evening...it was actually quite depressing...my mood went down as I had to turn on all the lights in the house just to see where I was going...not used to that yet...that's for winter not mid-September...hmmm...
Decided to do a mixed seafood dish tonight of haddock, prawns, smoked salmon with shallots and mushrooms in a white sauce with sliced potatoes on the top then browned in the oven on a high temperature for about twenty mins...very tasty...
Watched the Blue Planet afterwards where David Attenborough took us down to the deepest depths of the ocean...I've already seen it before but I'd forgotten just how unbelievably ugly some of those creatures are where very little or no light penetrates...truly the creatures of human nightmares and alien creatures from space in our imaginations...but also some were exquisitely beautiful with rainbow lights in luminous shades and bodies transparent and elastic...when that was over hubby came downstairs and watched for the first time on TV a film we last saw at the cinema and thoroughly enjoyed...Hellboy...:)) And, thoroughly enjoyed it this time as well...cheered me up no end...Ron Perlman is excellent as the comic character and can't wait for the next one to come out...
So, that's it, my friends, the end of another day...hope you have a restful night, sweet dreams and I send big hugs to you all...

  • Sunday's chuckle...

Hi to everybody...as the sun's gone in and it's all quiet here, thought I'd give you something to chuckle about early today...

The phone rings at FBI headquarters.
    "Hello?"
    "Hello, is this the FBI?"
    "Yes. What do you want?"
"I'm calling to report my neighbor Adrian Thibodeaux!
He is hiding marijuana inside his firewood."
"Thank you very much for the call, sir."
The next day, the FBI agents descend on Thibodeaux's
house. They search the shed where the firewood is kept.
Using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but
find no marijuana. They swear at Thibodeaux and leave.
The phone rings at Thibodeaux's house.
"Hey, Adrian! Did the FBI come?"
    "Yeah!"
    "Did they chop your firewood?"
    "Yep"
"Great, now it's your turn to call. I need my garden
    ploughed."

    --------

Robinson came home in great excitement and said
to his wife, "You'll never believe it, dear, but
I've discovered an entirely new position
    for lovemaking."
"Really," said Mrs. Robinson, interested at once.
    "What is it?"
    "Back to back."
"But that's crazy. We can't do anything back to back."
"Yes we can. I've persuaded another couple to help out."

    --------

A man goes to visit his 85-year-old grandpa in the
    hospital.
"How are you grandpa?" he asks.
"Feeling fine," says the old man.
    "What's the food like?"
    "Terrific, wonderful menus."
    "And the nursing?"
"Just couldn't be better. These young nurses
    really take care of you."
"What about sleeping? Do you sleep okay?"
"No problem at all --- nine hours solid every night.
At 10 o'clock they bring me a cup of hot chocolate
and a Viagra tablet, and that's it. I go out like
    a light."
The grandson is puzzled and a little alarmed by this,
so he rushes off to question the Nurse in charge.
"What are you people doing?" he asks. "I'm told you're
giving an 85-year-old Viagra on a daily basis.
    Surely that can't be true?"
"Oh, yes," replies the nurse. "Every night at 10 o'clock
we give him a cup of chocolate and a Viagra tablet. It
works wonderfully well. The chocolate makes him sleep,
and the Viagra stops him rolling out of bed."

That's it...big hugs to one and all....

  • A good night

Good morning to everybody...hope you slept well, because I did :D Woke up this morning snug in my bed and didn't really want to get out of it but knew I had to...got a cup of tea from hubby who is looking considerably better than he did yesterday and on Friday night...still blocked up but at least he's up...though I've just told him not to get too close as he's still definitely buggy :-/
Have got the paper and done the crossword, and met up with Whisky, the little cat, who, for the first time, didn't even come over for a stroke, but just gave me a croaky miouw then went and rolled around on the earth and, when I got back from the paper shop, he'd disappeared...a bit worried about him, but can't do anything as he's not ours...sad to see him go from a lovely bright little cat into this skinny rather sad looking one...try not to love him too much, he was just a breath of fresh air whenever we went out, now that all gone sadly...
So, my friends, I hope you're having a good weekend, that the sun is trying to shine on you, if not actually doing it as it is here now after a very cloudy start, and still very warm for this time of the year, and will find time to relax before the new week starts...

  • Time for a laugh

Hi to everybody...I need to have a laugh myself tonight, so here's three to cheer you up...

A little Catholic kid was praying as hard as he could.
'God,' he prayed, 'I really want a car.'
Jumping up and dashing to the window, he saw that the
    driveway was empty.
'God,' he prayed again, 'I really NEED a car.'
Still no answer to his prayers. Suddenly the kid
stood up, ran into his parents' bedroom, and grabbed
the statuette of the Virgin Mary off the mantelpiece.
He wrapped it up in ten layers of paper, using three
rolls of tape and a spool of twine, then stuffed it
inside a box at the very bottom of his closet.
'Okay, God,' he said, getting down onto his knees
again, 'if you ever want to see your mother again...'

    --------

God, I was wondering...how long is a million years
    to you?"
God answered, "Son, a million years to me is like
    a second to you."
So the man asks, "God how much is a million dollars
    to you?"
And God answered, "Son a million dollars to me is
    like one penny to you."
So the man asks, "God, can I have one of your pennies?"
And God answers, "Just a second, son."

    -------

One Friday afternoon two women are sitting on the
    front porch.

The first woman says, "Here comes my husband with
a bunch of flowers. That means I'll be on my back with
my legs in the air all weekend."

The other woman asks, "Why, don't you have a vase?"

    ------

That's it, folks, have a restful night, sweet dreams and big hugs to one and all..

  • Another happy bunny

Hi to everybody...good afternoon to you all...woke up this morning after a really good night's sleep and my leg is fine now after going back to my own pillows...obviously one that moulds to my neck and head is lethal for me...cuts off my circulation to my left leg! Hubby is still blocked up and locked away in his den  Not literally but you know what I mean...don't want him spreading this bug everywhere...it might of course be too late, but don't want to make it easy for it...
Hope any of you with it are feeling a bit better this morning...I did wake up to some really good news...a big fat cheque for the costs of our plumbing bills for the tap from Lidl's...greatly appreciated and paid out without argument or fuss...that's the way to do business...British companies should take a leaf out of their book...so I'm a happy bunny...just got to sort out Pipex Homecall now and all our refunds will be sorted...
I think I should have been a lawyer...I don't let go until I've had a satisfactory outcome to me when putting in a claim...:))
So, my friends, have had breakfast, walked round for the paper and discovered that the summer heat is back again...I was boiled in my autumn jacket and warm sweater...three or four days ago it was wintry now it's really hot...no wonder the bugs are thriving...no sun today though...very cloudy and heavy...hmmm...well won't be going out any where this weekend until hubby's back on his feet...my lovely next door neighbour picked up a few things for me that we needed when she went shopping yesterday so no need to have to go anywhere...hope you have a lovely afternoon...and I send you all big hugs for now....

  • Animation treat
