Sudan's shame

Hi to everybody...for the last few days I have listened to the news with representatives of the Sudanese government assuring our interviewers that Gillian Gibbons, the teacher arrested for allowing her pupils to name a teddy bear, Mohammed, would soon be released...today she has been charged with inciting hatred and showing contempt for religious beliefs...
This is an excerpt from the news report just in....
"Khartoum north prosecution unit has completed its investigation and has charged the Briton Gillian (Gibbons) under Article 125 of the criminal code," the Sudanese news agency SUNA said, quoting a senior Justice Ministry official.

The matter would go before a court on Thursday and Gibbons was expected to appear.

Lawyers say Gibbons, who is from Liverpool, could face 40 lashes, a fine, or six months in jail if convicted.

Earlier on Wednesday, three British embassy officials and a teaching colleague from the Unity High School where Gibbons worked were allowed to visit her for more than 90 minutes.

"I can confirm that we have met Ms. Gibbons and she said she is being treated well," said British consul Russell Phillips. "We remain in close contact with the Sudanese authorities on this case," he said, declining to give further details.

What on earth is our government doing to allow one of our citizens to be treated in this way over something that defies all logic or sanity? I am so angry at this I am fearful of the venom I feel towards Moslems because of it...they are so far stuck back in the past as to not belong to this century and there's nothing thinking people can do about it because it applies to Christians and Jews as well...each of them, in their own way, are going insane with their accusations of blasphemy or insults towards their religion...how I long for the day when we will see the end of the three banes on the human race with their superstitious beliefs, their cruelty towards their fellow human beings, and their absolute refusal to see that they might just be believing in a complete and utter fabrication of the human mind created in a time when the brain was only just beginning to be used in ways never before envisaged in the previous 150,000 years.
For the sake of the Universe, the Earth, the human race...grow up!!!

  I keep hoping we're going to grow up soon, but it seems to be the opposite happening...many of us are regressing to the level of imbeciles, which is extremely alarming, and are believing the most extraordinary load of rubbish...I don't know whether it's the final fling of our current religions or indicative of a decline in our capacity to use our brains any more...whichever way it is, it's scary...big hugs...

What can our government do about it , apart from expressing their disgust in the strongest diplomatic terms , which I think that they are doing ?
As I've said before the few Muslims who I've met in the Uk have all seemed very polite , pleasant , reasonable and hospitable people , apart from abhoring the U.S led attacks on Iraq and afghanistan causing the death or maiming of at least tens of thousands of their fellow muslims .
As I said in my recent post I find it hard to comprehend the 'yob element' of Islam , the vociferous and vituperative minority of hot-headed young males , perhaps tacitly encouraged and appeased by some of their governments .
Or the ridiculous charging of that lady , which if there's ant common-sense left in our world can surely be somehow resolved diplomatically , with kind regards and hugs and try not to get too worked up about things over which we have no control - Why not send a letter to the Sudanese embassy , as I may do , - martin .

  They could demand her immediate release otherwise all aid to the Sudan would stop until she is released. I'm aware there are very nice Moslems, Christians and Jews in the world...I'm equally aware they believe in something that doesn't actually exist and many are prepared to defend their beliefs with their lives...in doing so, they are prepared to take all of us with them or reduced the earth to a wasteland...for example the End Timers, who are busy trying to bring about Armageddon in the Middle East, and the end of the world so that Jesus will come back and convert the Jews, destroy the Moslems, and establish the Christian God as supreme over all...I'm afraid we've passed the time when tolerance of all belief systems should be the norm...there are some so dangerous to our world now, they need to be pulled down.
  Trouble is, I believe firmly you can only do that with words not weapons, and so do the majority of individuals who have transcended the need for a religious faith. That leaves us vulnerable because many of those with religious faith see killing non- believers as a holy act so how do you combat such insanity...how do the sane combat the insane without resorting to extreme measures as well?
  As for not getting worked up about things over which we have no control...I can't do that...when I'm dead will be the time to stop getting het up and trying to get somebody to listen to common sense...
  Big hugs, Martin...and I may take your advice and write a letter to the Sudanese Embassy for all the good it will do...the country is riven with bigotry and violence and isn't going to listen to anybody from the West...sadly...

And have you seen the controversy about The Golden Compass? Apparently it is 'anti-church' i.e. anti Xian and offensive to Xians. The boks are, apparently, worse.

  Yes, I have seen this idiocy...it makes my blood boil...all this paranoia about other people's alternative views on life and existence only tells me they're extremely unsure that what they believe is true...and, if they do truly believe it, they are even more dangerous because determined to keep spreading their untruths and trying to crush anybody who tries to put forward an alternative view...unfortunately with the large increase in the Polish population in Britain we may find more and more that criticism of non-believer's views will increase greatly...the Catholic Church in Poland is renowned for its narrow mindedness and intolerance and it's over here now....Don't mind Polish people coming over here, but I want them to leave their Catholicism back home, ours is bad enough now, but if theirs gets a foothold over here, the demands for censorship of everything they disapprove of will multiply massively...

  I've already emailed the Sudanese Embassy and written a polite letter to the General Secretary prior to her conviction and a lot of good that did...we've been hearing today about the conditions Gillian Gibbons will be living in in the women's prison, and also told that she would probably be badly treated by the women there because all they would have heard was that she incited religious hatred...also there are twenty to a cell with children and only a hole for a toilet...not sure whether she'll survive the ten days because disease is rampant in this prison as well apparently, and the food dreadful and she'll have no immunity to the bugs in it...the people are now calling for her execution...I cannot write another and be diplomatic, Mike...this is an outrage of the first order and they should be told that this is so...Sharia law was only supposed to apply to Moslems...that was the agreement thrashed out in the previous peace negotiations, and they have disregarded it in the case of Ms Gibbons, probably because they are going to use her as a bargaining chip in the forthcoming meetings with Sir David Steel...this is being pointed out by our diplomats so it doesn't need me to add my unimportant voice to it any further....big hugs...

Things have gone too far for politeness. All religion is nonsense, and the Muslims are dangerous. I do not feel any need to follow Mike's advice about who I insult, but I won't do it here, I'll put it on my own blog.

We rational people, who do not have idiotic delusions about gods who love us and not the other religions, have been tolerant of all these stupid religions for too long. They none of them deserve the tolerance they have taken advantage of for so long.

As for Sudan, once we have evacuated any of our people they have not killed, I see no moral argument against nuking the place to a sheet of glass.

  That's the prob, Walrus, such insane behaviour evokes violent emotions and responses to outrages of the sort we're witnessing now in normally rational people...I'm so angry with the people who accused Gillian Gibbons and convicted her and those now demanding she be executed, I know I'm not thinking straight...and I'm so afraid one day our leaders are going to get into the same frame of mind and start a bloody nuclear war....In the same way as there are irrational acts at work now amongst Moslems, in the Darfur camps, the End Timers are gaining a foothold and preparing people to believe that the end of the world is coming and that they need do nothing other than make peace with Jesus and then wait for it to happen....I would say that the world is currently in the midst of a serious nervous breakdown...

    The BBC have an excellent write up about what is actually going on in Sudan here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/7122007.stm which makes clear that while Sudan has at its disposal vast numbers of very poor, uneducated Moslems who can be organised into a raving mob by the mullahs whenever they like, at the top there is a very nasty bunch indeed, who are helping themselves to the country's huge oil revenues. They get their kicks by committing genocide inside their own borders, and so far have about 200,000 murders to their score.

      I've been following the situation in the Sudan for a long time...some forty years I believe it's been a hotbed of conflict and millions have died...it's a disaster that's now been picked up on by our world but the mainly Christian south has been at war with the Islamic North and cruelty on all sides has been dreadful but the North has excelled at slaughering its fellow citizens...with the Ganga Weed - really weird frigging name - are murderers and raiders and nobody seems to be able to stop them...we do have to practice such extraordinary patience these days with religions nowadays...big hugs...
