Hi to one and all...woke up this morning to a beautiful sunny day and decided it was shopping day after breakfast. Got everything we went for and came home in the sun still then sat and read the Sunday paper with a cup of coffee...after I completed the concise crossword, I read the main part of the Sunday Independent and came across Janet Street-Porter's ramblings...normally I don't bother to read them as I find them boring, but this time I did because I realised she was insulting bloggers and calling us social inepts whose blogs are about as interesting as watching cheese go mouldy...how bloody rude! There she is actually blogging for a newspaper and being paid to do so and whatever they pay her, it's too much, because I've had this newspaper since it came out and have never managed to read an entire article by her...I don't dislike her...she wonderful to mimic, and I've got her voice and delivery almost perfectly now and can hold a conversation in a Janet Street-Porter voice as we walk down the road when we want a good laugh so I do thank her for providing us with the health giving laughter that such a conversation always evokes...
I do wonder, however, when these newspaper hacks are going to stop insulting bloggers. Writers, journalists and anybody who the papers feel has a right to voice an opinion, seems to have it in for bloggers...in general, we're not hurting each other...we're supporting our group of friends in hard times, we're not starting wars, we're sharing ourselves and our lives, boring or not, the need to reach out and communicate is totally human and an activity if denied to a person can cause severe mental problems...blogging enable everybody to chat with like minded, or sometimes, not even like minded, people of both sexes or I should say all sexual preferences and thus opens minds and hearts to the other who we may not always have the opportunity to meet under normal circumstances...and blogging is international embracing all races, colours and creeds, which is another thing not always possible in our everyday lives...
So, I would say to Janet and anybody else who feels like insulting bloggers...to quote her...Blog off, Janet, and leave us to enjoy our blogs...
That's it, my friends, have a lovely rest of the day and big hugs to you all...
