Hi to everybody...late today...had a foul night again...3.20 woke up with nagging dull ache down below and had a cup of tea and a painkiller at 4.30, then another at 5.30 because the first pill did nothing, and finally went to sleep around 6.30...hmmm...best forgotten I think...got up at 9 because we wanted to go shopping this morning as opposed to the afternoon. The bus was twenty minutes late!!! Bloody hell and I had to stand all the way into town, got all shaken up but was distracted by a chappie who got on a couple of stops after us and proceeded to tell us all about his five week's hol in Benidorm then mentioned he was off to Malta and my brain went into reverse as I loathe virulently that place
Anyway, he was a distraction from the difficulty I had standing all the way, and very nice as well...also had an enjoyable chat with a lady at the bus stop while we waited for the darned bus to arrive...funny, at our own bus stop, we rarely have conversations with the people waiting with us, but at the next one down the road, which we sometimes go to because more choice of buses, we've had some really good chats with people there...hmmm...odd that...![]()
Had a good shop, and came home in time for lunch of French bread, brie, coleslaw and grapes again...I can eat them all now again...
But we're both so full! Think I cut too much bread, and then couldn't resist finishing it all up...HLOL...both our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs today...ah, well, got the afternoon to digest it...
Hubby says that a whole load of big wigs from Head Office descended on the PO yesterday, and one normally rude manager actually asked him politely whether he would do one of two jobs so gave him a choice for the first time...HLOL...might get a marked improvement in manners from now on...the injured manager is home already so no serious injury....
That's it for now, my friends, have a good rest of the day, hope the weekend is a restful, happy one for you, and big hugs to one and all...

Not until tomorrow anyway...I think my prob last night was caused by slimming bread...whatever they put in it to reduce the fat content didn't like me...hubby bought a loaf as a standby because we were running very low so had to eat it...really fed up having such a temperamental kidney
Hope your back is feeling a bit better today...more gentle hugs to you...XXX -

I had bread and cheese for lunch today too. Lovely organic granary bread with strong Welsh Cheddar and hummus. I eat too much cheese, which is part of the cause of my expanding waistline which needs to be shrinking again.

Can't eat cheddar at all apart from when it's cooked...gives me migraines...but a lot of other cheeses I can eat so really glad about that as I love it...
What is hummus? Mrs. F talks about it but I don't think I've ever had or even seen it...and we only have cheese in quite small quantities, so hoping that's not going to put on the pounds excessively...LOL...-

Uncooked cheddar gives you migraines? That's a peculiar trigger.
Hummus is a mediterranean pate made from chick peas and sesame seeds and some spices. It's delicious, healthy, and vegetarian all at the same time - like me :-)

Ah, don't like chick peas I'm afraid...and I think cheddar cheese or cheese in general is one of the major triggers for migraine...our son has inherited it...put himself in hospital once with chronic stomach and head ache...turned out he'd eaten a whole packet of cheddar cheese sections LOL...silly boy...he knew he was allergic but loved cheese...that's the annoying thing...most allergies we have are to things we love...

Cheese makes sense as many people have an intolerance to dairy produce. After all, no other species than humans drinks milk from the expectant mother of another species! Cheddar was just a little too specific.
I love chick peas, but hummus doesn't actually taste like them, it's a light brown paste with quite a complex flavour.

If I come across some I'll give it a try...I think M&S probably have it and Sainsbury's hidden away somewhere...no delicatessans around here so exotic things you have to search for here...

Even the most basic of supermarkets will stock Hummus. I hesitate to recommend it, but I don't know anyone who doesn't like it.

The streets are broken up almost everywhere we went...three people ended up with a broken leg, arm and some other injury falling in them, they're a dog's toilet...rubbish is everywhere...like being in the 1950's, the bus drivers are the rudest people we've ever come across, the hotel nearly killed me first night by spraying an entire cannister of mosquito repellent into a very small space and closing the windows and doors with me inside...it nearly choked me to death and made me vomit over and over again until I got out of the room....the food was dreadful, the cafe food even worse and to top it off I got ill the second week with a cough that made me bark like a dog, and took me six to eight weeks to get over when I got home, my eardrums coming home on the plane nearly burst because my sinuses were so completely blocked up..I was in agony for three hours travelling home and deaf, and we were harassed every day by time share touts or beach touts, and I forgot I was told I was a punishment from God because deformed....anything else, Martin...HLOL...

What an appalling holiday ; Some years ago when J and me were considering our first package holiday a well-travelled lady recommended Malta , as there are flights from norwich and she said the people speak english , they like british people and they're friendly , but we did'nt go there .
Later , that lady's partner became ill when they went there .
I've heard that the beaches are'nt good and that it's not the most scenic destination though I had no idea that it's as bad as you very unfortunately found it to be .
I think that Oliver Reed died in Malta , and that some scenes from gladiator , the last film he was in , were shot there .

There are no beaches, just rocky coves and some man made ones you have to pay to go on because attached to hotels...touts harass you to buy a week or a fortnight's worth of tickets to go on them...and won't take bloody no for an answer...they're mostly English and the time share touts are Maltese with Brits running the scams...I hope the lady's partner recovered...dangerous place to go health wise...
big hugs to you...

So sorry about the bad night. Here was me thinking you were over them, as well

Wish you hadn't mentioned the bread and cheese. You've given me a fancy, now.-

was only a temporary set back....fine last night...do not get on with the ingredients in slimming things...always have a bad side effect usually to do with my kidneys...so will avoid all of them from now on...
big hugs..XXX-

Glad to hear it. I can't take the slimming stuff either. It is the sweetner that sets my stomach off.

Yes, lethal...always affects my kidney seriously badly...ruined my stay up in London with our son...he gave me accidentally something with some synthetic sugar base or decaffeinated coffee that does it as well, and I spent the next three days getting up at least eight or nine times a night...it was a bloody nightmare...and the bed was the most uncomfortable one I've ever slept on...LOL...pitied his flatmate who slept on it all the time...big hugs...

I can't drink diet drinks because they give me stomach ache.
We have a bed here that everyone who sleeps on it says it the comfiest bed they've been in for a while. I can't sleep on it. I hate it. It is like sleeping on a marshmallow.-

Oh, this one had the metal bed springs clearly showing underneath the mattress cover...they dug in my back until I got our son to sort out a duvet cover for me to lie on top of...

Crikey! I think I'd prefer the marshmallow!
