Hi to everybody...had a very sound sleep last night and woke up still feeling drained...had breakfast in bed again and am up now and my brain feels like mush...hubby has started another cough. He phoned up the surgery and asked for his own doc and was told Friday morning!! I said try another, he was told all of the docs are busy until Friday...I said phone up and get a prescription for antibiotics for goodness sake, by Friday the cough will have taken hold of your chest and you'll be really ill again...he phones up for the third time to be told...oh, if you phone at two o'clock we have appointments open for today but can't issue them until the afternoon!! What the fuck is that all about? My hubby could have been seriously damaged with no antibiotics until Friday if I hadn't insisted he keep trying to get something before then...nobody told us of this new system, the receptionists never mentioned it, and I think that's tantamount to criminal...that's a person's life they're playing with by keeping back appointments and not telling the patients...anyway, now he's got to start phoning the surgery at two and just hope he can get through and make an appointment for this afternoon now...
He looks ill still and I don't think he's got over his bout of the flu yet either...he had two lots of antibiotics but they clearly didn't clear his chest fully...and I went down with it Saturday week and I'm still not up and around yet, but he had to go back to work after the same amount of time ill last Tuesday and must have been still weak with it....
Not surprised the docs are blocked up with this around, but still keeping back appointments is just not on...
That's it, my friends, have a good day, and big hugs to one and all...

Hiya Jen, if I can't get a doctor appointment over the 'phone I appear at the reception desk as soon as they open and they always manage to fit me in even if I have to wait for an hour, I know for a fact that they keep some spaces in the appointment book.
When the hell are things going to change for the two of you.-

I have no idea, Trev...I'm just about as down as I've been for ages...even when I had my bad stomach, I didn't feel this ill for so long...it's only been eleven days but feels like forever...time elongates when you're really bad unfortunately...other people at hubby's work can't get rid of the cough afterwards either so it's not only us who are in a bad way...this has really hit a lot of people for six...the older you are, the worse it is I guess as well...not so much energy as the young...mind you, I've been told about young men in their twenties and thirties taking two weeks to recover so maybe we're just doing the same as everybody else...great big hugs...XX

Good grief - you guys need a fortnight in the sun, get some vitamins in you. I am sure this weather is a lot to blame for all the illness going about just now.

He saw the doc...he's got no infection but the remnants of the flu's cough is making him very wheezy being asthmatic...the doc's given him steroids and told him he should be okay in five days...nasty, nasty bug this has been...big hugs....

Well, I'm glad he managed to see the Dr. I hope the steroids work.

Lala was on steroid inhalers for 18 months when she was a baby. I hated her being on them, but she couldn't breathe at night without. When Rachel was born, her medication was forgotten because I was in the hospital with Rachel, helping her fight for life, and then we realised she didn't need it anymore. However, it is my belief that, had she not been on them, she would be half the size she is, because of her coeliac.

all three of mine, both our sons and hubby were all on steroids regularly at one point in their lives...all with chronic asthma...both hubby and our eldest son grew out of the need for them...but Matthew didn't survive...glad you're little ones are okay...big hugs...

I agree with PurpleDragon...you need two weeks in the sun at the very least. Hope both of you heal and feel better soon. Hugs

You and haubby are still not well,
As I can tell,
The weather has to turn swell,
Then hopefully you will be well,
See that hubby gets his appointment today and has another round of antibiotics and you also should take your medicine without fail,
For if you fail you won't be let out on bail.
Hugs and God Bless.
