Hi to everybody...here's something that might be of interest to some if not all of you...
I've just sent a message to government leaders urging a strong ban on cluster bombs. I hope you'll join me. Here's the link:

It's a message to Gordon Brown to ban cluster bombs which do so much long term damage with unexploded ones going off up to years later and blowing off limbs or killing innocent victims.

Pro Thanks, Tom...must get rid of those damned things...Lebanon was bombed with them at the end of the Israeli attack and they're going to be reaping the benefits of them for years...hate them for doing that...such a vicious revenge...great big hugs...XX

I can, but i will decline...i know i could pretend to but I try to be honest!!....i dont believe in petitions...i would rather that there was a campaign to make these weapons less dangerous for civilians by improving the self-destruct mechanisms..countries may say they will stop making them...until the next conflict and then it will start again....unfortunatly you cant dis-invent something...which again is why i think the ban the bomb and such stuff is pointless...they will never go away!!

Pro I've been signing petitions for a long time now, and you're probably right, they don't make a big difference, but it's a way of putting your protest on paper to make yourself visible...I belonged to the CND for years, and we still have those damned things...I still think they're probably our biggest threat and with Israel possessing them, I think that scares me the most...I can see them using them one day if it feels sufficiently threatened...I think you could say that biological weapons have taken a back seat though no doubt still being developed because so unpredictable...your side could get affected as well as the enemy...cluster bombs, even if the self-destruct mechanism was perfected, would still I believe cause devastating results because no mechanism is foolproof...they are just so random in their destructiveness and through this, should be laid aside as a battle field weapon...killing civilians is against all the rules of engagement in conflicts, or is certainly claimed to be by the West, and one we really should try to stick to in a so called civilised world...cluster bombs generally kill civilians due to their random distribution...unlike landmines, which can be eventually rendered harmless because most sides know where they laid them...great big hugs...
