Hi to everybody...while waiting for Men in Trees to start, I watched on Science channel, the Big Dig about Boston's gargantuan task of moving their roads under the city and rerouting many to cut down journey times and reclaim the land wasted by the spaghetti junctions of roads and turn them into walkways and parks...it was the biggest engineering task ever undertaken in history, and just prior to it saw the engineering currently going on at the Panama Canal where two new locks are being built and it's going to be expanding to cope with the massive tankers and cruise ships...it was just amazing to see the powers of innovation brought in to resolve the problems in Boston and Panama and to overcome setbacks...Boston's did end up costing 15 billion dollars but will last for hundreds of years if maintained properly...and I don't think the final bill for Panama is in yet...but, regardless of this expenditure, it was very uplifting to see such a huge task in Boston being completed successfully and without bringing the city to a standstill at any point...
Hope you have a good evening, have a restful night, sweet dreams, and I've got to be up real early tomorrow to have my breakfast and a drink before 7.30 for my gastroscopy some time in the afternoon with nothing at all permitted in between...I'm going to be so thirsty if not starving too!!
Oh, well, it's only once with a bit of luck...great big hugs to one and all...

Don't have the science channel Jen, maybe I should get it, interesting subjects like the one that I watched on some channel yesterday about building the biggest cruise ship.
Good luck with your hospital visit.-

"The big Dig'---what a fiasco THAT turned out to be...one woman even died, because a contractor's short cuts made the whole thing unstable.
