Hi to everybody...last night I recorded Andrew Marr's 'Britain from Above' and have just watched it now. It was programme that took a bird's eye view of Britain over a day. What was revealed in it was the sheer complexity of life in our country today and what it takes to keep it all running, sometimes smoothly, and, on occasions, chaotically. The Independent reviewer gave it a rather withering review stating at the end that while it was impressive from above, on the ground we all knew it was very different in so many words. Having watched it, I think that was rather a harsh critique. What was funny was the moment when 'Eastenders' finished and the electricity board knew that as soon as it finished a massive demand in energy would come in as 18 million kettles were switched on for the British cuppa...it's the largest demand anywhere in Europe and requires assistance from France to supplement ours...as it happened the link failed on the night that Andrew Marr was filming and another source had to be found rapidly from our own shores, which it was in the nick of time...LOL...
All in all, I don't know how many of you managed to see it, but it's one of three, and, if you missed the first, the following two may well be worth watching to discover how our country functions and what it entails to enable sixty million of us to lead our daily lives...
Hope you have a good evening, and great big hugs to one and all...
