Hi to everybody...had one of those nights filled with dreams...not bad ones, just dreams....woke to sunshine and got up at 8.45 this morning because hubby's back to work today and we needed to do a last bit of extra shopping in Lidl's...found out there's a very chilly wind, but otherwise it's still pleasant here...
I checked my weight on the scales today because I had a suspicion I was putting on the pounds and was shocked to see I've gained four since I started this new medication...the only conclusion I can come to is I am metabolizing my food differently on it and it's laying on the pounds very quickly...bummer! Now I can eat more, I now have to start reducing everything because I can definitely feel I'm carry more than I should with my back...this is going to be fun...my bro arrives from South Africa tomorrow and is staying in the area for seven weeks before being posted to another job in Eastern Europe,
and he's eating with us each evening...it was supposed to be two weeks! If I have to cook a full meal every evening, I'm going to be as fat as butter...and I really don't want to cook just for him...will have to rethink this arrangement...![]()
That's it for now...hope you're all having a good day and are seeing some sun...sending great big hugs to one and all in the meantime....

they certainly are...think I was supposed to be mendicant nun or something...
Each of the things I enjoy has been systematically removed from me...the last thing I'm holding onto is ciggies and I'm buggered if I'm going to be forced to give them up as well..

Think I do that in any case...really don't eat a lot of fattening things at all now...will have to cut out my rice pudding in the evening...only have a third of a small tin and now that's going...

Miserable weather again up here Jen, cold/rain/wind.
Saturday was warmer than much of the Med coast, strange weather we are getting, where the hell is this Global warming that we are being promised.
I would willingly take on your extra four pounds in weight, plus any more that you could spare, just can't put on the extra weight that I need and once had.
Take care.-

Oh, I'll willingly send it up to you..HLOL...think crisps two or three times a week aren't helping...and Ray needs to lose nearly a stone to get to a really healthy weight...if he retires soon, we'll both go on a strict diet until we're both what we should be and see what we had to cut out to reach it and maintain it...I can see him grimacing now at the thought...
Don't moan about being slim, Trev...you'll be a lot healthier lighter in weight, even if you feel a lot slimmer than you were a few years back...and you smoke don't you? That'll keep you slim...if I didn't, I'd be ten stone by now...

Oh dear - there's always a downside isn't there! Still at least your diet will be able to include things that you couldn't eat before! A large glass of water before you eat is a good idea - helps you to still feel pleasantly full even though you've eaten less!

Would be okay if I liked drinking water, I really, really don't...LOL...but a cup of tea could suffice...

Oh, you too! I don't like water on it's own either - I always add squash to mine, or have tea, (which I drink by the mugful)

Nothing like a cup of tea in the morning, after lunch and after dinner...
And whenever we've come home after being away or out for the day..
Have two coffees a day too, one mid morning and one mid afternoon...LOL...water I have to drink with my pill each morning and try and swallow it down as quickly as possible...
That's the one thing I miss when we're on holiday...never seem to get enough to drink and daren't drink as much as I normally do in case there isn't a handy loo around...does tend to go in one end and out the other unfortunately...HLOL...GBHs...XXX-

I like a nice cup of tea in the morning
For to start the day you see
And at half-past eleven
Well my idea of Heaven
Is a nice cup of tea
I like a nice cup of tea with my dinner
And a nice cup of tea with my tea
And when it's time for bed
There's a lot to be said
For a nice cup of tea

That's a right pain Jen. You don't eat a lot of food and now having to cut back is ridiculous.
It will be good to see your brother and have him over for a meal or two. Feeding him for 7 weeks is generous.
I would feel like I needed to entertain him as well and crack under all the pressure.

I thought I was adding the pounds...bummer!! And, yes, my bro does have a habit of springing things on us and then changing plan without telling us...he may have a job between the next one which could take him abroad again, but some of these jobs are put off for weeks so heaven knows how long he might be here...if he wants to sit and watch my series with me in the evening that's fine, but, if he doesn't, he'll have to find something else to do...LOL...GBHs...XXX
