Hi to everybody...didn't have a good night last night...had Goingsomewhere's post on my mind after I turned the light off about me being the cause of her oven going on fire after trying to make bread using my recipe and now needs a new one apparently...by 2 I still hadn't got off to sleep because I was very cold so got up and put something warmer on and put the electric blanket on for a few minutes to warm the bed up, coughing and wheezing a lot too, so took a Ventolin and about twenty mins or so later I fell asleep and have woken up with a shock...my eyes have altered to the extent that my glasses don't work properly now...everything is just out of focus and distance is affected as well...just what I need to start our holiday week...anyway, I've got an appointment in Poole this afternoon at 3.15, so will let you know what they say...I can see the screen on my comp but everything is slightly blurred...no black spots or reduction in extent of vision, but definitely something isn't right...
ONE MORE THING I must add about this perishing bread recipe, which I now wish I'd never put up if someone can burn their oven to pieces following it...if you use a plastic bowl, please don't put that in the oven to let your bread rise...just put it in a warm place for an hour or so...you can do that with whatever kind of bowl you use, but I put it into the oven for convenience sake...I use a stainless steel bowl. Also the oven temps...I took them from the book...think the 400 degrees should be regulo 400 on an old oven...most ovens only go up to 250 nowadays in any case...I've taken the recipe off line now but will send it to anybody who wants it...
Right, that's it for now...feeling a bit sick at the mo so will stop...Hope you all have a good day and will see some sunshine, not much around here today and, apparently, the forecasters have changed their damned minds again...the hot weather isn't going to arrive until Wednesday now!! I really, really don't like weather forecasters...LOL...so great big hugs to one and all in the meantime...

No, I don't think she did that...she did something else which burned the actual loaves I think...she said the bread didn't work in any case so must have reached the end stage...she won't say what caused it which is what's made me so angry and upset...And my eyes seem to be improving the more I'm using them...wondered whether I shook one of my retina loose a bit with the bad cough I had last night and it's righting itself slowly...GBHs...XXX

Oh, I'm glad it wasn't just me...it's only 61 degrees in Bournemouth today and that's not at all warm for this time of the year do probably another chilly night tonight...

Yes, so was I...I don't know whether to feel guilty for writing a wrong instruction now or whether it was something goingsomewhere did herself...I have asked her but haven't had an answer yet...has made me feel really bad...hmmm...deep sighs...why do the nice ideas end up with a rotten end so often...LOL...definitely feeling a bit under the weather today so just taking it easy...GBHs...XXX

Jen, baker beware. It is not your fault when someone else has a mishap. Hope your eyes get better. That is worrying. xx

Sorry to hear about your problems. Let us know how you get on at the opticians later eh?

Me too - dry eye. Use special stuff from Opthamologist. One eye at a time gets almost like a migraine. It goes away and improves. However, so glad you are going to your eye doctor later.
You are not to blame for that oven fire. How about a gas oven. In Bermuda, I relit the flame at back of oven. It poofed! Suddenly, I was eyebrowless, eyelashless and frontal-bangs less, immediately. Quite a surprise! haha. -

I hope all goes well and it is nothing serious. X

thank you, kaimi0achava...it was good news...probably a visual migraine...never heard of one but now I'll know if it ever happens again, which I hope it won't...LOL...GBHs...XXX

That wasn't very nice of her! It's hardly your fault her oven caught fire! I reckon she just wanted someone to blame. If the temperature was too hot, well anyone with any common sense would very soon have realised and turned it down - you don't just put food in the oven and walk away and let it fend for itself! It wasn't...and I'm very surprised at her, she's a really lovely person too...must have been so angry she just lashed out...still hurtful...GBHs...XXX

I'm really sorry to have upset you. I wasn't angry at all - more amused at my own stupidity in using an appliance that had given me fair warning that it was not safe to use it. I didn't mean it to come across that I was really blaming you for what happened. There will be a post on my blog in the morning to that effect.
I hope I'm forgiven.

Oh, yes, it's fine now I know I'm not to blame...I couldn't get to sleep the day your post went up and when I did finally drop off, I woke up worrying about it...LOL...hmmm...was imagining all sorts of disastrous scenarios to do with my recipe...

Mishaps happen, it part of life! I wouldn't worry Jen. I hope you feel better soon, a similar thing happened to my aunt who went blurry eyed in a shop and had to wait an hour to be picked up by the bus.(this was last week) she recovered her eyesight properly the next day.

That's peculiar about your eyes.
It's not your fault if someone puts a plastic container in the oven!
