Good bread

Hi to everybody...made my bread...they're as large as my other batches so good sized loaves...
Here's the video of how to make it, but I don't have a mixing machine so did it by hand and kneaded for about seven or eight mins...I also doubled up on the recipe so that I could make two large loaves... Also, as I didn't put them in a tin, I cooked them for seven minutes less than the suggested cooking time and covered them when I turned them after twenty two minutes with tin foil as they were browning a lot by then...

Looks scrummy Jen. My nan used to make her own bread. You cant beat home made. I've never baked any but I have toyed with the idea of getting a bread making machine. I would have a ball trying out all the different recipes lol. Enjoy your bread! xxxx

  My bread making machine sits in the conservatory unused now...HLOL...it cooks everything with a perishing great beater in the middle!! And the loaves are okay but not a patch on hand made... Good luck if you do get one...try and find one with a very thin beater in the middle...GBHs...XXX

        Oh no! I need to be corrected, and like to know where I stand. That is how a friendship is built.
        
        It has become a habit with me since we adopted the 'rescue' mini-dachshund from the pound. She is crazy about her 'daddy' David! Not having any children ourselves, we are 'playing a role' with the little dog!

        Must be consuming too many calories! It's amazing how quickly they can add up, even when you think your not eating very much! Meat is so high you wouldn't believe how many calories in just a very small portion - chicken is the best meat calorie-wise, but don't eat the skin

Great video , jenray I wish I had a mixer like that

The water spray is a great tip too.
I've started using a very hot over for 5 minutes, spraying , baking for 5 minutes and then turning the heat down.

  I tend not to spray water into the oven because it's electric and can short circuit the light and the fan electrics...might try a small bowl with a couple of dessert spoons of boiling water in it...but Dutch bread I made today doesn't need it because it's very moist and have had some tonight and it's very nice... GBHs...XXX
