Hi to everybody...had a good night and woke up to discover I'd missed half an hour of In our Time...did want to hear it all as it's the last one of the series and about the first mass extinction and what happened afterwards to eventually evolve into us...
Got the last quarter of an hour which ended with the lovely statement..'we're in the middle now of the sixth mass extinction'...hmmm...that's nice to know isn't it...
Must try and hear it all at some point today...
It's sunshine amongst the rather attractive clouds today so pleasant enough...that wretched white cat was in our garden today when we came down for breakfast...seated right by the bird seed tray ready to try to kill our birds...saw me coming out and shot off like a bullet from a gun over the back fence and home...I'm going to do something nasty to that blasted cat if it kills any of our lovely birds...it has also doubled in size!! I'm really get very bloody annoyed being invaded by this damned animal...water clearly hasn't scared it off...shouting at it hasn't, it still comes sneaking in...hmmm...grrrrhhh...only cat in the area that does it and there are lots...and it's a newcomer being only five or six months old...
Not going out today, though had good intentions but time flew by and won't be now...hubby's on overtime for the next two days so needs to be in bed by 2 to 2.15 to be up by 3.45...no news at all coming out of the PO about the redundancies so still in limbo, but have accepted that he may have to continue working until he's 65 now, which is a damned bore but we've no choice but to accept what we can't change...
That's it for now...hope you all have a good day, are seeing some sunshine and send great big hugs to one and all...

Hope you had a good day Jen.
It wasn't too bad here, though a lot cooler than that lovely weather we had in June. Hope we get some more of it soon. I spent the morning baking, (bread and cakes) and the afternoon in the garden picking the last of the blackcurrants, raspberries and gooseberries and then freezing them, except for one lot of gooseberries which I put in the fridge ready to make a gooseberry crumble tomorrow.
Had a call from my youngest son yesterday evening to say he's got the flu! - He was worried in case he'd passed it on to us when we went there the other day! We're fine, and I phoned him back today to see how he was (he lives on his own, and gets asthma so I was a bit worried) and he was feeling a bit better.
We were going to go to mum-in-law's tomorrow, but we won't go for a couple more days just in case one of us is carrying any flu bugs, don't want to pass anything on to her!
Hope you're having a good evening....GBH's XXX

Had a lovely peaceful day, thanks, ravingmad...
And it's chilly this evening but it's been a pleasant day...plenty of sunshine but didn't make it out for a walk again...really must try tomorrow...sounds like a lovely day for you too...had to laugh when you said you'd picked so much fruit you could freeze it...my blackberries filled a cup and the raspberries were so tiny but packed with flavour and filled half a cup...clearly I'm not doing something right...HLOL...actually all mine get invaded each year by some tiny caterpillar that consumes every single leaf on both plants...don't know what they are...and I'm trying not to worry about this wretched flu because our son gets asthma too and so does Ray...I hope your son will be better soon...and that you haven't caught anything...have a restful night and sweet dreams...off to bed to read soon so night night...

We don't grow blackberries as they grow in the lanes round here, so we just go blackberrying when they're ripe. We've got 3 blackcurrant bushes, 2 gooseberry bushes, and a row of raspberries. They always fruit really well, so we save a fair bit by not having to pay shop prices. Got runner beans and leeks coming along too, but they're not ready yet, but I'll freeze them when they are

Night night Jen pleasant dreams and sleep tight GBH's XXX-
