Hi to everybody...had an excellent night and woke up to grey and much colder weather today...hubby brought me a cup of tea at 9 and then nuggled up with me for another hour...LOL...neither of us wanted to get out of my lovely cosy bed, but needs must so we got up had breakfast, and this morning I needed to make coleslaw, but discovered I'd run out of my supply of mayonnaise, so quick change of plan...![]()
It was a trip to Lidl's first...were lucky enough to catch the bus which took us down the road right outside it so cut the time by ten minutes...went for mayonnaise and spent over £20 in there on a whole load of other things we will use over the next week...LOL...and I bought myself a couple of bunches of ornamental brassicas because they looked really pretty and they're now in the conservatory...and the ten bottles of mayonnaise are in the garage...LOL...well it was Helman's reduced to a £1 a jar so as I'm making coleslaw every five or so days, and use half a jar each time, it was well worth stocking up...![]()
So, now the coleslaw is made, we've had our coffee, put away the rest of the shopping and the rest of the day is ours...also I forgot to tell you...there are birds eating the seeds and the fat balls in our garden but we never see them!...Don't know when they come down but I had to replace one fat ball completely yesterday and it's not a squirrel because they tear the green plastic netting around them to pieces...definitely birds...must come very early in the morning...probably before the cat is out...hmmm...glad they're eating them now but disappointed we can't see them anymore...
And, that's it for now, my lovely friends, I hope you have a lovely day, will see some sunshine, and send great big hugs to one and all...

Had to laugh, Ray has been walking along the road saying his face feels a lot colder without his beard...
All I can say to that is 'now you know how I feel'....LOL...Have a lovely, productive day...or a very relaxed one...GBHs...XXX-

Hello!
The early bird catches the worm or in this case, the fat ball!
Have a great day.

It's great that the birds are back. As someone once said, it's the early bird that gets the worm, but it's the second mouse that gets the cheese...

OMG That's a lot of mayonnaise! I do love it, but if I ate that much I'd put on far too much weight, so I try not to have it too often (especially as I've a weakness for chocolate too) LOL

Well half a jar each lot of coleslaw isn't much when I put half a cabbage and a very large carrot and half an onion into the coleslaw...LOL...that amount just about covers all the mixture...

- put like that it doesn't sound very much it's true! I'm so used to watching calories that my mind just automatically reeled in horror at the number of extra calories I would be eating if I had a quarter of a jar every 5 days (its actually only about 200 calories if I've done my maths right.......or 14,600 calories per year LOL)

I've never counted calories and have no intention of ever starting...HLOL...I think common sense will tell you what foodstuffs are going to pile on the pounds and calorie counting just makes you worry about everything you put in your mouth...LOL...and don't forget, the coleslaw is between two people, so roughly 100 calories over five days...
As we don't eat sweets or biscuits anymore between meals, our calorie intake is probably pretty good...GBHs...XXX-

The 200 calories was for a quarter of a jar - it would be double that for half a jar, so the 14,600 calories in a year was the no of extra calories just one person would eat. I like my choccies and hubby loves biscuits, so by having hardly any mayonnaise we can still be quite naughty and have a fair amount of our favourite snacks without putting on any weight.
