Hi to everybody...now that we seem to have some nuisance commentators around, the small spanner next to the pencil symbol that you click to write your post is a very useful tool ...go down to Post Status and change 'default comment status' to 'comments by friends only' and click on Save...that way, you can filter out unwanted comments before they will appear on your blogs. You will find any unwanted comments at the top of your blog Home Page after new Posts and New invitations, you just click on Comments to be moderated and reject any you don't want...You can also write a description of your blog which will appear permanently under your Header Image by clicking on the spanner...This is for newbies because I know most people here will already know this...
Saves having to see inane comments and sellers on your blog...

Yes he put up a post on the photoblog just after your last one asking how to delete his blog - then a whie later it (and he) had gone.
I'm sure he'll be easily recognised if and when he comes back as he has such a distinctive style.-

oh, good, but no style at all which is why I found his posts and comments so incomprehensible...some were direct copies of some irrelevant inf about careers or cancer and nothing to do with the post or inane comments or nonsense...I'm leaving the moderating facility up because I've got somebody who keeps posting on my blog about boots for sale...

I don't like doing that on principle. If any bad comments appear (maybe one a week I get) I just delete them.

well, what ever way you deal with nuisances is fine for you...I was just letting people who may not know they have this facility that it is there to use if they wish...
It's not bad comments that have made me use it, just somebody who kept putting long irrelevant comments up or somebody who's selling stuff...easier to just moderate the comments than give them publicity...GBHs...XXX -

I tend to delete comments i don't like but it is nice to know the tool is available as there are some who are not always charitable.

Thanks for the info Jen - as yet I haven't had more than a very occasional nuisance comment on my blog, so I've just been deleting them, but that's very useful to know in case I ever start to get more of them

Hi Jenny , I did that weeks ago , though I still have to read , or try not to read comments to be moderated before accepting or rejecting them - even comments from users I've 'blocked' . . .
