Hi to everybody...had a horrible night...the wind was, and still is, howling outside at 80 mph and it's raining again now too...was up and down like a yo yo...at least four times...and when hubby brought me a cup of tea this morning, he arrived with bad news...the darn bird table had blown over and it was next to my little Japanese maple...two main branches have been snapped off...
The table is okay, but my poor little maple is going to be a lot smaller until it grows some more branches back...damn...I loathe to pieces wind...also all the seed on the table has fallen into the gravel and I'll be pulling up loads of it when it grows in the Spring...damn!...
So, still not dressed...still listening the perishing wind howling like a banshee outside and don't like the sound at all...Hope some of you are having a better day than we are, and will see some sunshine...Hope you all have a very good weekend, regardless of the weather, and send great big hugs to one and all...

Hmmm...will believe that when I see it...

a slight improvement in the last ten mins...wind's still there but the rain has stopped and the sky has lightened...this little maple has been potted for years so it was a trauma to be planted in the ground when the garden was rebuilt, and now it's been bashed hard too...hope it's a hardy one...LOL...GBHs...XXX

Wow! I suspect that wind will be getting to us within hours; has picked up a tad here...not quite up to gale force; must batten down hatches....I presume...

Make sure you've got nothing in the garden that can blow over!...If it's as strong as it has been here for hours, anything not fixed down very well will blow down or over...

Thge wind has just reached us in London. It's all very wild. Interestingly I cleaned the flat like mad woman this morning, which I know has to do with the weather. I always have huge amounts of energy when it's stormy!!
Sorry about your little tree - Goes to show how windy it is, because your little garden looks very sheltered on photographs.
Hopefully you will be able to have a good rest of the day.

Hope it doesn't stay around too long for you...

Mother Nature is such a powerful force. That is a darn shame about the maple tree. I hope the wind settles down. xxx

Really is a day for battening down the hatches isn't it!
Sorry your maple got damaged, but hopefully it will send out some nice new growth in the spring to replace the broken branches.
